He does it every game. Even when it isn't his day his movement and workrate is exceptional. Agree but he does need to pass forward occasionally though. I’d suggest you watch the first goal against Oldham the other night. He is quality

No, but that league is one step closer to the league than this one.

What a great manager Cal Mac is his understanding of football is as good as any young manager out there his interview with the BBC was first class put gghim right in his place I personally think higher clubs will start looking at Cal and we will be lucky to keep himy gg Sadly I think you are right. When I first heard him interviewed it was patently obvious he was a cut above what we have had for many years as a manager. He is loyal to the club and City but in order to realise his ambitions may require funds we don't have to cement promotion. I'm not sure if the fans owned set up can come up with what he may need. Maybe the club can get a loan on the basis that we can boost our home attendance to 2,500 with a promotion? Perhaps current sponsor would consider it, if we hit the play offs?

Today was really straightforward, we started a tad sluggishly and then despite getting well on top didn’t use the ball anywhere near as well as we could/should have done. But after the break we completely took them apart.
First half we did create a few really good chances but in the main we were slow to get forward, deeper than we should have been and there was a lot of sidewards and backwards stuff with the midfield struggling to find options with the lack of movement up front in a narrow shape. I also think Kettering were that bad and deep that we had a bit too much time to think. Second half was a different story, we nudged up a bit to help create a few more openings and were open to going a bit more direct.
Mentioned earlier that I was really pleased to see Dudley get on the scoresheet, he needed it and the confidence was flowing through him in the second half. Hall lashed one just over the bar from wide left and the assist from Dudley from that was sublime. When he’s on it there’s few finer sights.
Waxed lyrical about Kevin Roberts the other night, excellent again. Don’t know about anyone else but even when he was a kid here years ago I thought he was a better holding midfielder than right back. In the latter position he’s a solid 7 out of 10 most weeks, but in midfield he’s capable of higher for me. Matty Williams was also excellent, like he has been most weeks for a while now.
Kettering were absolutely hopeless and offered nothing at all, we beat them by the same score at the Deva last season as well.
Big game on Tuesday, Gloucester are in form and doing really well, but we have to start stringing wins together to climb up the table.

Lets just try having a bit of patience. Calum has been in the job 5 minutes and lets give him time before we start criticising the ownership model Funds can be self generating, in that if you sell a player for decent money, then the funds are re-invested in other young players, under the age of 24 with sell on value. So, you have a conveyor belt of talent coming through.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Piss off. Glad he shut the haters up today, playing further forward than he’s been deployed since Asante signed. How old are you? Do you know you're talking to a fellow fan? Dudley splits opinion - not a big deal. Well done for backing him, he's finally paid you back, but why are you so angry with other fans? It's like watching a group of 14 year-olds watching you lot ganging up and finding the smallest excuse to give people a kicking over their opinion. Great win today, loads to be positive about. Again. First goals in a year for a forward and he thinks it ludicrous that people were questioning him after that first half. Fair play to him for scoring two really good goals second half and looking like the player from 3/4 years ago. Hope it continues.

Dudley playing like an ex pro in a charity match. So unfit still. Aren't you the bloke that said Robert's looked finished after the Hanley match and Tyrer costs us a goal a game after Kings Lynn? Next time you predict a 0-0 draw I think I'll pop a few quid on both teams to score 🤣

Since Hanley, Roberts has shaken off the rustiness and been excellent. We’re improving all the time but unless 15th in the league represents an excellent start there must have been some below par performances from individuals earlier on in the season.

It would do wonders for his confidence going forward well it used to be how things were done back in the day, and after all we were 3-0 up at the time

Yesterday was always going to be an important game because it represented arguably our first 'home banker' of the season. Looking at the league table, on Tuesday we'll have played the teams in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th but we're yet to play 6 of the 9 teams below us. When you add in the injuries we've had and the new squad/manager etc, you can probably justify our league position right now.
Yesterday was reassuring in the sense that we didn't need to get out of 3rd gear and comfortably put 4 past a mid table side. We've already demonstrated we're going to pick up points away from home, but performances like yesterday show that we've got enough to put a run of wins together at the Deva.
Whilst the first half was pretty dull, it wasn't a disaster and I expect we'll see more of it as the season goes on. We dominated the ball and were never in danger, but as others have said we needed to be 10 yards higher up and move it a bit faster. However, you don't need to win the game in the first half and the second was much better. Straight from kick off, we took advantage of the gap between their left back and left centre half (both of whom were shite) and it gave us loads of joy. So much sharper and slightly more direct and it could have been any score we wanted it to be.
Lots of 7/10 performances across the 11. Made up for Dudley, he's such a good footballer who has never really found his position. He's got a huge chance to kick on now and cement his place in the side. Weeks was superb, again. Special mention to Liam Edwards who has shown his quality in his cameo against Oldham and again today. I can't remember us having 3 young, physical centre halves like we do now, it's great for squad depth.
Again, my MOTM was probably Kev Roberts. The system is really working for him and he's looked a different class for the last 3 games.
So important we back it up against Gloucester. Never mind taking a point etc, it's another must win game for me.

Yesterday was really what we should've expected. We need to be winning these games in that kind of fashion week in week out. I think now the that the players know though they can push sides in a higher division to the end there should be more confidence.
However we do need to improve in the first half, don't get me wrong we did well but against a side higher in the league we could've been 1 or 2 down at half-time. On the contrary you could argue that if it wasn't for their keeper we'd have been 2 or 3 up at the break.
I'm glad Dudley had a good game, hopefully that will continue as he looked really good yesterday and should've had a hat trick on the 59th/60th minute. Kev Roberts was phenomenal and is just the kind of player we've been looking for the last few years. Weeks was incredible. Defensively it was brilliant, thought the entire back 4 as well as Tyrer had a good game.
Hopefully we sign Waters up when he gets back from injury as Coulton is only a loan, not sure how long for. But I really like Waters and him and Coates would give us a good pair of full-backs. I wonder how much Glendon is going to push us when he gets back, he is a class player so hopefully he'd push a bit further up the table.
Onto Tuesday night now, Gloucester at home. Should be going for it on Tuesday, they're a good side but if we want to be going up or getting playoffs at least these are the teams we also need to be beating.
As for the fan-ownership debate that was being had a bit further up, I have my opinions about it but they're best kept until the end of the season where we can review the season as a whole.
Hopefully this a turning point for the season and we can start making the Deva a horrible place for teams to come. I know we whinge and moan about attendances but we're up there with the highest in the league bar Kiddy, so whilst to us we are disappointed obviously, it is not as bad as it seems. However we do need to be hitting that 2k mark regularly on Saturday fixtures and 1.6-1.7k for weekday fixtures. Atmosphere again was good in the Harry Mac behind the goal but to the sides a bit quiet so if you're in the Harry Mac please sing and shout.

Otherwise if Dudley scored it and we got another one next week, he could say he scored the last one and start arguing with Kurt that he should take it. And Kurt, being a striker, has to be greedy about goalscoring opportunities so I wouldn't expect him to pass up the chance from the spot.

Thats how it should be. Watching the video back, although we got a lucky bounce to Dudley, the approach play, passing and movement ahead of the second goal was excellent.
