Gloucester are fourth - beat them and we'll be three points behind with a game in hand. It's a tight league!
Three wins on the spin for them so they'll arrive with confidence but I back us. Won't be as comfortable as Saturday though.
Chester 2-1 Gloucester. Willoughby and Devine.
1,842 with 56 away

I know that Gloucester are currently fourth but they've only played 3 of the others in the top 8, and in those three games they've lost twice and drawn once. So they are far from unbeatable.

It will be a tricky game tonight, as Gloucester City are turning out to be one of the surprise packages, so we must not underestimate them at all. We will be coming into this one fresh on the back of a 4-0 win though, so I fancy our chances this evening. We almost have a full squad to choose from for the first time this season, which will enable us to rotate our side, because a couple of our players could do with a deserved rest on the back of a hectic couple of weeks. The fixtures will be relentless over the next few weeks, so I am sure that Calum McIntyre will be pleased that he will be able to pick and choose when he can to save legs. Gloucester City will be making the venture from Gloucestershire having had a good start to the season. The Tigers sit in fourth place having won seven games, however they have also lost five, so they are certainly a beatable side. Gloucester had a disappointing start to the season initially, as they lost three of their opening five encounters, and at the end of September they parted company with then-manager Lee Mansell. I was a bit surprised by that decision personally, because City had arguably improved on their hit and miss start, as when Mansell departed they had only lost one in four, so it was a questionable decision at the time. Fair play to them though, they have since appointed Steve King, who is a well-known manager in non-league having managed the likes of Dartford and Welling United. He is doing a great job for Gloucester thus far, as the South West outfit will arrive at the Deva having won three on the trot. It is very important that we won against Kettering Town last Saturday to boost our morale in the league, however what is crucial now is that we put a good run together to make sure we are within the play-off conversation. We have still only lost once in our previous six league encounters, but we need to start turning some of these draws into wins, as I really want us to be competing at the top end of the table. I am optimistic and confident that we will, so hopefully we will record back-to-back wins later on which would be excellent. Given we are at home as well, that would be a big boost for our floating supporters too. Up The Seals 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️! 𝙎𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙚 - Chester FC (Thomas, Dudley) 2-1 Gloucester City (McClure). Wouldn’t say they’re a “surprise package” really, it’s the usual new manager BOUNCE.

I see their home form is top 5 but away form bottom third - bodes well. Are they still playing on a plastic pitch at home - that may explain this?

Notable results
Chester 4-0 Kettering, Chester 0-1 Darlington, Chester 3-3 Kings Lynn
Chorley 3-0 Gloucester, Hereford 1-3 Gloucester, Darlington 3-1 Gloucester
League position
Chester - 15th w/ 16pts
Gloucester - 4th w/ 22pts
Preview
Pretty good victory against Kettering last time out, slow start in the first half which will need to be improved against the better teams going forward. Second half was just sensational and we were unlucky not to have 5 or 6 by the end of it. Hopefully Dudley will carry on the same way because he was brilliant, same with the defence who did a great job. Kev Roberts and Weeks in midfield were simply incredible as well.
Looking at today, obviously Gloucester aren't going to be a pushover as they have won their last 3 games and are sitting 4th in the league. However I do think that if we play the way we did in the second half we should just have enough to beat them, it won't be easy but I think we'll just about have enough. If we can put in a solid defensive performance then I think we will do well. These are the games we want to be needing to be considered playoff material.
Not exactly a glamorous game for the for the maybe fans on a Tuesday night so don't be expecting a crowd like we had a week ago.
Prediction
Chester 2-0 Gloucester (Weeks x1, Willoughby x1) 1,650 (40 Gloucester)
Up The Seals

Gloucester are a disgrace.
Time wasting since the 1st minute, absolute shithouses.
We weren’t good there at all, look off the pace and void of any ideas.
They’re going to park the bus and be unbearable second half aren’t they?

Surprised that we’ve gone unchanged again after a hectic seven days for the team last week. Think we need the legs of Murray at some point.
We’re usually a second half team under Cal at home so let’s hope that proves true again tonight

Only game i have watched was us at their place last season. We were at a different level playing sublime stuff and could have been 5'up at half time. Drew 3-3 but we did play exciting football. Dackers:(our no.9),Stephenson and Weeks were overwhelming them. Shame it sounds so dour tonight.
