See they have sacked their manager, club legend Danny Whitaker, despite being top of the league with game in hand on second and third. Just when you thought Savage couldn't be any more of a tool. Seems to have gone down badly. Loathe as I am to give any credit to our neighbours at least they stuck with their manager after the play off defeat last season when the easiest option would have been the axe.

Macc fans are up in arms. Savage will probably appoint one of his mates.

It’s an odd move full stop, but sacking a manager after an FA Trophy defeat to a club that were three divisions higher than them last season really isn’t a good look at all.
Notice they only had a crowd of 805 there yesterday, which should act as a bit of a warning sign to the owners of how quickly they could lose many of those who’ve jumped on the bandwagon should things go wrong.

What a weird move - seemingly going to piss the league and who cares about cups when you’re trying to smash through the pyramid.
Savage is a Grade A Tit.
I always wish clubs well who went under like us, but this is a shithouse move.
I see Steve Cunningham or Bern & Jonno being touted…..

Watching the documentary I got the feeling that Whitaker was nominally the manager, but Savage was making the signings and interfering with selection. He basically thought he knew better than Whitaker.
Thought Whitaker was an appointment to get the fans behind the new club. Surprised he lasted as long as he did.

Savage has always been a prat, I don't understand why people like him. The definition of a man-child.

I wish Savage would give up his work commitments. Don't want to hear his voice or see his face again.

Savage does their recruitment, and you can imagine interferes with picking the team.
Reckon Jonno and Bern be off there next.

They won 4-0 today and have won six out of eight. Can't be a sacking surely?

Apparantley Savage picking the team and getting far to involved so they've quit.
Their fans think Askey is next man for job but can't see him dropping 3 leagues for that shambles.

''Macclesfield FC can confirm that we are now inviting applications for the permanent role of First Team Head Coach.
The successful candidate will enjoy the unique opportunity of taking charge of all First Team matchday affairs within our clearly defined playing philosophy and daytime training model.
We are looking for an innovative leader who inspires at every level and is able to get the best out of their players whilst representing our Club.
The successful applicant will work along side the Director of Football, who will manage all other aspects of our First Team together with the Head of Recruitment.
Applications should be sent to info@macclesfieldfc.com in the first instance, with a covering letter documenting why you feel that your experience and character are perfectly suited to Macclesfield FC and our First Team model.
Given the number of applications that we expect to receive, we are only able to respond to those applicants who we will be taking forward to the next stage of our recruitment process'.

"In one respect, we are lucky – we attract gates of between 3,500 to 4,000 in a league where most of out competitors get crowds of only a few hundred. But our stadium is effectively an EFL-standard facility in the Northern Premier League West, and we have to obtain a safety certificate from the council to run it as such.
I can understand the feedback about ticket prices: Next season, we are increasing admission from £12 to £17, and season tickets from £180 to £299, which works out at £14.23 per game.
The alternative would be to reduce the playing budget by half, use that money to peg back ticket prices, and instead of building a squad capable of challenging for a third successive promotion we could just tread water."
Still not enough though, so, introducing -

Savage cannot help himself. He pokes his nose in team affairs and generally makes life difficult for the manager Says a lot when nobody stays more than a few months
