Wrexham sign Luke Young from Torquay 2 year deal. Unforuantly I have been blocked off the Wrexham twitter so cannot see the delightful comments from the Wrexham fans saying it's their 11th time lucky. I did notice Ricketts was asked if there was going to be any signings anytime soon, he said the play offs are still going on which meant the Wrexham fans were getting excited of the thought of signing some sort of EFL player then they go and bring in a Conference South player.

Stereophonics looked great but even though it had no remote connection to football grown men ended up fighting. Bubble for the next concert?

Stereophonics looked great but even though it had no remote connection to football grown men ended up fighting. Bubble for the next concert? A bit of perspective. I witnessed this happening. It was nothing more than handbags. One guy was frogmarched out by four stewards because he couldn’t behave. Absolutely no dramas. Not bad for a crowd of 20,000 the majority of whom had been drinking most of the day.

Any truth in the rumours Ed Sheeran was due to play Chester but they couldn't afford to pay him for a full set so he came on, played "Lego House" and then left? In front of 700 people in fairness...

Since the investment we are looking into doing something similar. 10,000+ concerts would be do-able in the summer.

It is a great way of raising money. And obviously, as it's not football-related, you can get the whole local community in, which does weirdly enough have a knock-on effect on the club. We could make more probably, but we take the risk-free option of not making a profit on ticket sales, but get the majority (if not all) of the booze and food profits. That way we can't make a loss if for some reason ticket sales are bad (like happened with Tranmere last season who allegedly made a LOSS of £100k+ on their gigs)

It does bring people from all over the area. so it's definitly something we should try and do.

'Their' not 'there' but put that aside.
Shame some fellow supporters don't feel the same way - I note a gang of Tranmere supporters have been jailed for attacking Chester supporters in the Shropshire Arms last season.

(Again) I doubt we will get relegated like you did either What year was it that Wrexham finished bottom of the entire league but didn't get relegated because someone's ground wasn't up to scratch. If not for that stroke of good fortune you could have been down here for 20 years.

What year was it that Chester finished in the bottom four in the National League but didn't get relegated because some other team went bust? If not for that stroke of good fortune you would have been in the National League North for four year now...

Flynn played the kids as there was no pressure of relegation. Worked out well with promotion a few years later with said kids, and a certain Garry Bennett we signed on a free from someone.

Stevenage's ground was deemed inadequate.

Wrong - There was no relegation from division 4 in 1991 because the league was planning to increase numbers by two, to 94 clubs. Barnet were admitted in 1991 after winning the conference, and Colchester the following year- unfortunately, Aldershot and Maidstone both folded in 1992, and the projected expansion was abandoned.
Which is why, as rwr said, Flynn was allowed to go through with his blooding the young system. We had nothing to lose.

I agree. Was great at the time for us, but the game is a lot different now than it was in the nineties. But "the Wrexham fans" is not true. A couple might have mentioned it in passing but there was never a clamour.

This.⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ Although I think the premier league starting with reduced number of teams played a part too.

Probably. There was a restructuring of the league certainly. The point being we knew we weren't going down so we weren't afraid to experiment.

Really good trip. A week in Albufeira. A great open training session where some of the many fans who made it over to the Algarve mixed freely with players and staff afterwards. Nice to speak to Graham Barrow and his obvious delight in being at our club. ( it really is just a job to the guy). Matchday. An early start down at the 19th Hole in Vilamoura wher the SpiritOf58 boys arranged a pre match afternoon party. And what a party, fans and board members mixed freely whilst taking in the sun, music and cervezas. Club arranged buses then shipped us all to the Estádio Algarve to enjoy the game. A great stadium where around 400 Wxm fans made sure they heard. FT 2-2. Back to Albufeira just as the English hordes were traipsing back to their hotels after the semi final defeat. The day was just getting better and better. Thurs,Fri and Sat were spent between the beach, the pool and numerous bars. Great week with a promise of same again next year. COYR.
