27-02-1965 Chester 6 Wrexham 1 Ian Moir dances around half the Wrexham team, past the keeper, stops the ball on the line (foot on the ball),waiting for the defenders to get there, and taps it over the line. Great day that was. Err, Ian Moir didn’t arrive here until 1967. Are you thinking of Jimmy Humes who scored a hat trick in that game.

Same for THAT Junior Agogo goal against Cheltenham. Seen it back many times since and it isn’t that great. He doesn’t actually beat any defender, it’s like he beat the offside trap on the halfway line and had a clear and easy run at goal. The real cult classic Agogo goal was a consolation at Lincoln in a 4-1 rout. Took it round their whole team then stuck it in the top corner from 30 yards. Or that’s how I remember it anyway 😉 Uploaded to YouTube just seven days ago, funnily enough.

Graham Lancashires winner for us at home to Preston in the '94 promotion season. We beat them 3-2 in a mad atmosphere. I've never seen it, just remember the utter limbs in the choccy end as it was then.

Graham Lancashire was fantastic.

I've mentioned one Steve Whitehall goal, but he scored several crackers for us that have been lost as non-league games in the early 2000s were generally not filmed.
On his debut at Kingstonian he scored a great goal from the edge of the box with his back to goal. There are a lot of old Kingstonian clips on YouTube so I keep thinking there's a chance that will emerge, along with our Variety Trophy win there, but it hasn't yet.

I was going to say this one and then I found it. Not seen this in decades but it doesn't get any less good. Behold Carl Dale's winner away at Brentford in 1989. linkThat's a lovely goal. No messing about and what a finish. And decent limbs in the away end too!

One special goal that I would like to see again is Nick Richardson's free kick at Shrewsbury in our only ever win at Gay Meadow in 1999. That was a good one!

I seem to recall a Christmas fixture in 66 when we beat Lincoln 6-0, two for Moir and four for Eddie Loyden. At my advancing age my memory ain't great so I could be wrong and I lent my On The Borderline to someone and never got it back so can't check details.

Whitehall's cracker against Kettering is here amongst the big bulk upload the club put up a while back. Starts at the right place for it when you click play, number 36.

That's a lovely goal. No messing about and what a finish. And decent limbs in the away end too! I'm in there somewhere! The other thing I remember from that day was having a pencil from my pocket confiscated by a steward as an offensive weapon. He was unmoved by my observation that it was pens that were mightier than the sword, not pencils.

Any Craig Mahon goal when he cuts in from the wing and curls a shot into the corner from 25m as he did against us recently.

Funny thing about Mahon is despite how much we all love him he actually had a very disappointing goal return for us (1 in 13). Southend aside, not many of them stick in the mind much either.

But of the 17 most were very similar. I think it's a very subtle way to score a goal which the opposition can't defend when a player decides to do it.

You can take some solace from the fact you’re not the only Devachat user to have had an item of stationery confiscated from you at a game…

Every goal was a masterpiece.

Agree on this and would also love to see again the cracking equaliser Matt Woods scored there a couple of seasons earlier. Those are the only two goals I can ever recall us scoring at the away end at Gay Meadow (there weren’t many more down the far end either come to think of it).

Matty Doughty Boxing Day 1999 in a 2-1 defeat at Mansfield. I remember the feeling of that goal so vividly but would love to see it again. I don't think it's on YouTube. Any other Deva Chatters with goals they'd love to see again? Was this an absolute screamer from towards the left touchline at the (now) Harry Mac end? I vaguely remember this and it always comes to mind as the best goal I've seen at the Deva but I could well be massively over rating it in my memory!

Tony Hemmings did score a cracker in a 5-0 hammering of Mansfield later that season when the ‘great escape’ looked on.

Must be a different goal I'm thinking of - I'm sure Doughty (or maybe Chris Blackburn?) scored a screamer at home that season too
