Burke at the top of the diamond is a big mistake by the manager. Not Burkes fault. We were promised something different. First half it’s the same old rubbish

Is the problem the system or simply not taking chances?
Fourth home game running we've gone in 1-0 down at half time, but we've had chances in all of them (although I wasn't at Curzon).

Stevo has come on for Hughes at half-time and we’ve switched to 433.
Willoughby right, Stevo left, Dudley through the middle.

Pleasantly surprised by the attendance. Thought we'd drop under 2,000 today.

0-2.
On a positive note, at least we’re looking like ending this drawing run.

Only good thing so far today is King's Lynn have had 2 sent off at Buxton. Hopefully won't be available on Saturday.

OK I have only been able to watch us once in a year but when I did at Gloucester Weeks, Stephenson and Dackers were full of pace and tore them apart. There must be a good reason, though not an obvious one to many fans it seems, why Stephenson is largely sidelined. Stephenson nowhere near the levels he was second half of season last season. Doesn’t work anywhere near hard enough to justify a place in the team when he’s out of form either. Shame really as we all know how good he can be! As I say this thought he was decent when he come on today!

One of them games I think today. We had plenty of chances throughout the game but we’re just too poor at executing them. Defo better than Alfreton midweek anyway but then again that wasn’t hard! Hopefully now the unbeaten streak is over we can actually move on now. We were on top when Thomas and Stevenson were on the wings that’s no doubt

At least it wasn’t a draw hey?
Really poor first half and looked a little better second half but it’s simply not good enough at the moment.
Thomas and Daz need to start more regularly, we were a threat when they come on and maybe it’s a wake up for Cal to start them both instead of a narrow, sideways happy style of play.
Best player for us was Dudley, class act today, just let down by others.
Glen Taylor is by far away the most complete striker in this league - he’s strong but also a great touch, fit and finds goals.

Seems we're having yet another poor January/February spell. Honestly this has been a "thing" for as long as I've been supporting the club. I don't get it.
While we're in this sticky spell at home, I'd go as far as to say I don't mind us losing if we try something different. Problem is it seems like we've lost today doing the same thing.

Think we needed that defeat today to snap out of the run of draws and make the necessary tactical change for future games, certainly home games anyway.

Can't remember the last time we missed as many chances as today As I said on Tuesday, we're making more than enough chances to win games against in-form teams but confidence in front of goal is rock bottom. Give them a couple of hours in training kicking into an empty net to remind them where the bloody goal is. Also, best I've seen Dudley play in a long time. Fantastic today.

Really puzzled after that today
4132 with Burke in the middle of the 3, used as a battering ram for goal kicks and throw ins? What was even more strange was taking Hughes off at ht for Dazzler and keeping Roberts and Burke on for another twenty minutes

While we're in this sticky spell at home, I'd go as far as to say I don't mind us losing if we try something different. Problem is it seems like we've lost today doing the same thing. The difference in the first half was the fact they had two wide men who caused us countless problems they didn’t have to look for an out ball they were always there, second half when we had two wingers we created lots of chances. Mistakes cost us dearly we gifted them both goals and they could have put the game to bed as we looked all at sea at the back.

First half was dire. Manager got it all wrong. Still far too cautious. Why play a centre back just behind the front line? Burke is a good defender and defensive midfielder at a push but not mobile or creative. How does this manager expect us to win at home with the same formation that is continually failing- not good enough!!! Better second half with some speed and height up front- enough chances to win but more training needed on shooting. I struggle to see what our plan/tactics are most of the time. We seem to run around and hope something will happen. We are not a play off team just decent mid table.

That result has been coming for weeks really hasn’t it.
Still crying out for width and we were better late when we had it. Can only hope that the Burke experiment is well and truly consigned to the bin, poor lad looked absolutely lost up there.
Dudley was excellent, by a distance our best player.

4-4-2 in first half with Burke pushed forward was all wrong/effectively made us a 10 man team and was unfair on him as the game passed him by.
4-3-3 in second half was better but why you’d play this position when your midfield was already not winning much ball in a 4-4-2 I don’t know. Don’t know why Hughes came off. Meant Willoughby was on the wing and that doesn’t suit him.
We created more chances than them but didn’t take them, they did. On that basis I suppose they deserved the win.
Weeks far too deep all game (yet again) = no creativity. And frankly his corners were complete shite - v few made it passed first man.
Thought Thomas and Stephenson did ok but as much because it rectified the Burke mistake as much as anything else.
Still think we need to go 3-5-2/5-3-2 and play with width and diagonal balls behind the opponent’s defence for strikers to run onto.
Hope the loss crystallises a more honest assessment of our strengths and weaknesses by Cal rather than being distracted by the (frankly meaningless) unbeaten run and help him focus on the solution to our woes. Playoffs are easily achievable this season but we need to sort this slump in the next couple of games if it isn’t to become a massive uphill battle.

In a weird way, a defeat after so long might do us a world of good, as we've been riding our luck in recent games. They say you learn more in defeat, etc
It was obvious to everyone that we were better today once Stephenson and Thomas came on and provided width, would like to see us starting with some width. I'm not sure how Weeks got man of the month, one of his poorer games. When Weeks is having a poor game, we have next to no creativity, especially when we don't start with wingers.
At the same time, we actually had quite a few good chances in the first half. On another day, we could have been 2 or 3 up by half time. A combination of some poor finishing and some good saves got in the way.
I wouldn't want to think where we'd be this season without Kurt.

Very poor today but also didn't have lady luck on our side at times.
Williams was my MOM by a country mile, some excellent blocks on numerous occasions.
