Alfreton sign Jamie Walker from Long Eaton United - "I’m a left winger, but last season I’ve spent a lot of time in the 10 role just behind the striker, also I play left back as well." Boston sign ex Brackley veteran midfielder Martin Woods Darlington sign former Boston centre midfielder Tom Platt, Scunthorpe sign midfielder Michael Clunan, formally with Kings Lynn. Lynn's owner Stephen Cleeve said " Michael and his girlfriend are expecting their first child later this year and the big offer from Scunthorpe allows Michael to give up his job as an accountant to spend more time with his expanding family. It is a sad day that sees the curtain falling on Michael’s time at King’s Lynn Town FC but Scunthorpe are a big club with a budget that is top half of the National League let alone National League North and one that we cannot compete against."

Brackley Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of striker Danny Newton. The experienced forward joins the Saints after recently leaving National League side Boreham Wood.
Known for his relentlessness and hard work on the pitch, Danny, 32, has bags of experience in non-league football, including a brief spell at St James Park in 2013. He also has EFL experience with a four-year spell in League Two with Stevenage where he scored 29 goals in 130 appearances.

Maybe back down to his level after a good couple of years each at Leamington and Tamworth in the mid 2010's

Scunthorpe midtable for me, despite seemingly splashing out. They're too much of a mess off the pitch. Old club owner Peter Swan wants 3 million for ground which he moved away from club before selling to Hilton.

This is what I mean. They just seem chaotic and I can't see them paying all these players they've signed. The very fact that they loaned out and released Whitehouse while getting relegated from the NL suggests someone there has no idea what they're doing.
I see the regular challengers like Kings Lynn and Brackley as the main threats next season, and Buxton should be better. There are usually some strong teams among the promoted ones as well, such as South Shields or Bishops Stortford.

Farsley Celtic sign fullback George Smith from Guiseley and Darren Stephenson from Chester. Not one accustomed to understatement, Farsley's chairman said of his clubs new signings, "George is one of the standout left backs at this level, he typifies not only the type of player we want at our club, but also the type of person. Darren brings a whole new dimension to our game with his power, striking ability and quite frankly ridiculous pace which means he is without doubt a multiple threat player. A hugely exciting talent possessing a skill set that I have not seen in a player at Farsley in my time at the club." Gloucester sign midfielder Louis McGrory ex Hungerford, winger Joe Parker from Chippenham, forward Harry Williams ex Swindon Supermarine. Hereford sign defender Aaron Skinner from Bamber Bridge and midfielder Alex Babos from Banbury. Southport sign goalkeeper Chris Renshaw ex Curzon Ashton.

Alfreton sign - forward Lewis Salmon following his release from Notts Forest. Salmon had previously been on loan at Alfreton during the 21/22 season and finished last season at Telford. Defender Kennedy Digie joins from Gloucester City . Defender Shaun Brisley signs after leaving Buxton. 6ft 4ins forward Jake Day signs after leaving Spennymoor
Bishop's Stortford sign forward George Sykes from Aveley.
Curzon Ashton sign midfielder Isaac Sinclair who returns to the club after leaving Bamber Brige.
Darlington sign defender Jordan Mustoe from Warrington Rylands, defender Toby Lees joins from Blyth and midfielder Cameron Salkeld from Clyde.
Gloucester sign midfielder Felix Miles who spent last season with Cinderford Town, on loan from Stratford Town. Gloucester appear to be targeting mainly locally based players for next season as they return to part time training. In a recent interview new chairman Patrick Chambers discussed past and present recruitment -
"It is a challenge because the players were here under the hybrid system and there was a large budget, The club, publicly, have said they had been losing a lot of money, so we’ve got challenges. Geographical challenges, a lot of the squad lived a long, long way from the club and were put up in hotels, with travel costs so with a reduced budget, for some of those players it’s simply unfeasible, it’s not going to happen."
Hereford sign goalkeeper Curtis Pond from Chasetown FC and defender Adam Livingstone who finished last season at Telford.

Does anyone else find it strange how kurt willoughby hasn't been snapped up given his goal scoring record and some clubs have been splashing the cash ? I bet I am totally wrong but if I was a conspiracy theorist I would wonder if the club had done a deal and he will be the last plyer to be announced ? It could also be that his agent is being a dick and expecting to much for clubs to pay 😲😲 I just find it strange no club has snapped him up tbh and on a free.
Oh well that killed my theory but it was nice to dream 😂😂 I wish the lad all the best thanks for everything Kurt 👍👍

Actually not a bad point really, did think he’d be gone early doors. But you find a lot of the NL and L2 clubs do their business into July, so I think he’ll have 3-4 choices at the moment. If he goes Fylde do we burn an effigy of him?

Rest assured he will have had offers from clubs above. They will also probably be over 50% more than we were paying him over 44 weeks, and probably on a 2 year, 52 week contract.
KW said himself it was time for him to move on from the NLN, some of our supporters need to move on from Kurt. He was great last season, but we move on with Kole Hall, Charlie Caton, Zak Goodson and Zack Clarke.

There's probably negotiation going on with other clubs. I remember Neil Young saying once that the most significant deals in non-league don't get over the line until at least July. Clubs who have signed loads of players this early in the close season are probably either signing players nobody else wants (like Farsley, possibly) or are spending stupid money they don't have (Scunthorpe).
