I'm not sure some people read the whole article and realise that you don't have to pledge a minimum direct debit of £5 per month. You can just donate any lump sum amount through paypal or bank transfer, just the once, or as many times as you like whenever you fancy it. Could just be a fiver.
Maybe we need to push that angle a bit more. I was thinking just that, the link to donate isn’t being posted on social media it’s right at the bottom of the very long article and could be easily missed. The link to donate any one off sum is: www.paypal.com/donate?token=QqPm9XSd4VVtLQ6A-2ePb0GH19kXSdRZSwsgjNuRgtjee6OtIs7xZAic7pJopWWwzIXVuxfkupdYgMyoIt’s via PayPal but you don’t have to have a PayPal account to use it, you can just type your card details in. Feel like the club need to push that link in posts as much as possible, might get a lot more traction, especially if tied in with more regular updates. Doesn’t feel like much hype has been built around it this year and we can’t afford to be complacent with it.

In some regards, part of me wonders whether our form in the season just gone may have actually deterred some people from contributing. If you think about it, all our previous BTB campaigns have been launched in the face of adversity of some sort - the first year was in the middle of the pandemic, when we needed the funds to simply stay afloat; the second year was in its immediate aftermath when we were still recovering financially; and last year came off the back of a very poor season, with a recognition that we needed to back Cal to build as strong a side as possible. This time around, though, it’s more of an ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ mentality, and so it wouldn’t surprise me if some supporters have seen the early signings we’ve made this summer to add to what was already a very good squad, and consequently begun to feel as though the budget doesn’t actually need boosting. Perhaps there’s even a confidence that Cal would still be able to keep us competitive if he had to work with more limited funds.
That being said, though, I also think we need to keep things in perspective. In terms of the money we’ve raised so far, we’re in a similar position to where we were in 2022 and, more encouragingly, in 2020 (when the final total ended up being over 115k). I get that there was perhaps an expectation that the money would be piling up more quickly this year in light of the increased attendances towards the tail-end of the last season, but we’ve also got to bear in mind that many of those who contributed to that rise in gates aren’t necessarily diehard fans and might be unwilling to make such a large financial contribution to the club - or might not even know of the scheme’s existence at all. There’s still plenty of time to go before the deadline so I don’t think we should be unduly worried at this moment in time, nor do I see any real reason to believe that we won’t reach the 100k target.

Sort of think a t-shirt depicting a Milner goal against the goats nearly 30 years ago is a little bit cringe? Just me?
Like the Ben Heneghan one too - just makes us look a little weird and obsessed with them.

Stating the bleedin' obvious but maybe people just don't have spare cash floating around. I've decided to go down the season ticket route (for the first time) as a way of supporting the club (and for selfish reasons at least I've got a chance of tickets on our cup run (ahem). Probably won't use it more than two or three times (living on the south coast). The trade off is I've scaled back other commitments, such as Squad Builder and lottery. Would love to do BTB but will probably make a smaller single one off payment. I think any total we get that comes near £100k at a time when many fans must have a squeeze on household budgets is a magnificent achievement. As an aside, in the middle of the pandemic a lot of us were awash with cash because we couldn't go out to spend it!

I’ll have Duke of Westminster please. Daniel Craig or Michael Owen I can't make up my mind or maybe even Hugh Jackman, just to piss off Ryan Reynolds 😊 Mike Parry a shout

Big Bird was a cult hero in the mid 90s. A proper left-field contributor to Boost the Budget. Great to see.

Week on week since the first update:
+£18k > +£16k > +£12k
Still has legs, two weeks left.

Week on week since the first update: +£18k > +£16k > +£12k Still has legs, two weeks left. Pay day next week so I’ll be throwing a few more quid in the hat. I’m genuinely staggered by the generosity of Blues fans, especially when a lot of people are really struggling financially. To think, some posters on here were predicting it would be a disaster.

Brilliant effort so far. Thought we'd struggle, given all the cost of livings issues, but yet again the support has been phenomenal.

Woe to you, oh earth and sea For the Devil sends the beast with wrath Because he knows the time is short Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast For it is a human number Its number is six hundred and sixty-six 🤟👹 I was anticipating a new signing announcement yesterday to coincide with our amazing BTB target achievement but sadly had to settle for an update on how high the grass has grown 😄
