Tollitt on the bench. Madness. And Coates. His two faves Whitehouse and Weeks start even though they were shocking once again on Tuesday. ‘His two faves’ Tollitt and Coates are both coming back from injury and are not fully fit hence why not starting

Genius plan from Calum.
Make sure every game is a cup final going into the playoffs giving you the best chance of winning.
Solid today, soon start scoring goals again just in time to romp the playoffs.
It might not be a plan exactly but got a hunch this will be the season.

Should’ve won really. They are fucking terrible how on earth they’ve pissed the league I don’t know. Not really much else to say. 6 games to go now need to play like we did today in them all and we’ll be ok

Our problem is rolling the weaker sides over.

Only ever posts when we’re going through a bad patch to spout his crap about whoever the current manager is. Dont hear fuck all when we’re winning.

A really good point in the whole scheme of things. 4 points and 2 clean sheets against the runaway leaders of this league shows we have a team that should be up there contesting the title our problem is the age old Chester problem we lack consistency and at the moment the ability to score goals 47 goals in 40 games is just not championship material

On paper a great result today, sounds like we dominated and should have won it, especially after Tollitt came on. Unfortunately we are at home next week so my expectations are more of the same sleep inducing "entertainment" we have witnessed unless there's a serious rethink from Callum.

Good result today but we now won’t have won in a month will we? Slightly concerning form heading into the run in we seem to have faded a little from convincing 3rd to neck and neck with the bottom of the playoffs.
Give the lads credit for shutting down the runaway leaders away from home today but need to kick on from this and beat a few sides now.

Not really much else to say. 6 games to go now need to play like we did today in them all and we’ll be ok With Scunthorpe not being the dominant force many expected it does feel a bit like the league has been there for the taking this season. From what I've read around this league, nobody has been overly impressed by Tamworth this season but they've put the results together and fair play to them. For us it's a decent point in isolation, but it doesn't cancel out the disappointing two points from our last three home games. It feels a bit like the quality of the opposition is irrelevant to us as whoever we play it will be a tight game. If we got Liverpool or Man City in the Cup we'd probably give a very good account of ourselves. At the same time, if we played a Chester & District League team we'd probably labour to a 1-0 win after a replay.

Bishop's Stortford mathematically relegated today.
Somehow, they are the only team to beat us by more than one goal under Calum.

Service station food while writing this.
Thought we played really well today. Did everything but stick it in the net (the important bit). Their goalie made a couple of great saves and we got the ball stuck under foot or slightly behind when in good positions.
Couldn’t fault the boys.
Thought Murray did really well. Caton really tried but just didn’t work for him.
Onwards and upwards.
Next game for me and the boy Gloucester away so an easy three points there!

It’s a six game season now no point moaning about all the games we have messed up, it’s all about how we finish then hopefully the playoff’s.

Not surprised we were excellent today. We’ve seen time and again what a solid, counter attacking side we can be against the better sides.
Good point, hopefully we move forward with a different approach at the Deva.

Yes, for me the only game all season(s) and always good games. I thought there would be nothing riding on it this time but seems there will be...hopefully not for them as we don't want to play a die hard team at that stage.

A decent point today and we could have won it late on. Papered over the cracks a bit though when you consider we have only 2 wins in the last 11, no wins in 6 and no goals in 3. All the other sides around us won today. We are in serious danger of missing a play off place.

Could and should have won that today. Murray m-o-m by a mile and I think he is crucial to these last 6 games. I think we've got to win a minimum of 3 of them, possibly 4.

Agree re Murray and MOM - esp when the ref wasn’t as generous with the free kicks than some of them are with him. Thought he did really well up against what was a big and physical midfield. Am worried about Caton - he’s looked really out of sorts recently. Hope he gets his mojo back as we are deffo going to need it in the run in.

Honestly, didn't think we played to different from Tuesday, we just had more shots on goal. Which we really should have scored from. However another clean sheet which can't be moaned at. I thought Murray played well along with Tollet when he came on.
How they're top of the league on that showing, I don't know, but they must be doing something right.

Spennymoor are the form team at the moment lying 12th - four points behind us but with two games in hand. Further more, six of the top 11 teams all have games in hand on us. Fearing the worst but hoping for the best.

Caton had a really strong first half. Ran his socks off but was fading a little by the time he came off. He’s building his fitness and I think he’ll be a huge player for the run in.

I would have brought Peers off. Offered nothing again. Seems completely unable to time a jump. I know it isn't totally his game, but he must be able to judge the flight of a ball.
I thought Caton had a decent game and at least made them think. Murray was a constant threat.
They offered very little. I can only remember Stanway having one easy save to make. Main tactic seemed to be be hoof or throw the ball long and hope a lump would get on the end of it. They won't last in the league above.

Caton had a really strong first half. Ran his socks off but was fading a little by the time he came off. He’s building his fitness and I think he’ll be a huge player for the run in. All the danger was coming from Caton's crosses on the right, especially in the first half. He was pushed out a bit wider, and it had the effect of making him more of a winger at times. We've certainly missed having that attacking width. Defence didn't put a foot wrong today. Tamworth's only threat was around the time they had a freekick in the first half, and another shot which Stanway did really well to hold. How that beer monster in defence gets a game, I do not know. Great atmosphere. Never seen so many wanker signs from two sets of supporters in my life. Just a shame we couldn't hit the net yet again. Tollitt was cleverly slotted through by Peers as soon as he came on, but scuffed his shot. How Peers and Glendon didn't finish towards the end I don't know. I even celebrated at one point thinking Glendon had scored. Murray was great, not just in creating play, but in breaking up Tamworth's, really got stuck in. A non bobbly plastic pitch certainly suits his style, and the whole team to be fair as it enables us to play. I do think the heavily weathered pitches might have contributed a bit to our loss in form, as it disrupts our quick passing game when we're at our best. If the players put in at least five shifts like that in the last six games, then we should secure a playoff place.

Fearing the worst but hoping for the best. Lots of the teams in contention are playing each other in the run in so all we have to do is look after our own results ,other teams will drop points, we have to turn the draws into wins at least 4 of the six could do it.

I think we've got to win a minimum of 3 of them, possibly 4. 66 points and a goal difference of +7 took 7th place last year, which would be just two more wins, and 67 took fourth. I think more will be needed this year though. I'd say three wins will do it and one next weekend against a side not far behind us would be very useful.

Being relegated with nine games still to play is pretty crazy - that’s like if Sheffield United were to officially go down after their next game. Must be one of the earliest-ever relegations from this league, and makes that result on the opening day - and the fact they actually played well and were full value for their win - all the more ridiculous.
