I'm kind of settled over here now, although I do still look at and occasionally post on the other one. I get the impression users of the other one are happy all the 'negative' posters have gone.

I don't see any problem with having two forums, I read and post on both. It is good that new members can now join DC1, however, they need to revoke the many groundless bans, and change one or two of the mods, if they want the site to be used by more of the blues online community.

Didn't see it, but I'm surprised some people still don't seem to be over it. We've got two decent forums now, take your pick, or use a bit of both. Long term, I would say it might not be a bad idea for this one to change its name though. Seems like it's mainly older fans who have stuck with the old one, giving it a more old-fashioned and "pro-establishment" tone, perhaps. That said, they still have Barney Daniels over there, who is the most miserable and constantly critical bugger around! |

I wouldn't go back to DC1 if you paid me. It's still run by phoneys they just have a new mouthpiece to speak through.
Kinda like the club in a way, Mark McGuire being the one who will take the flack for their lack of action on the managers situation. Not that I like Mark but this seems to run deeper than just the manager and the ceo

Think tonight shows why DC1 has lost the battle, despite some good efforts to sort it out. A few people start using it when this one goes down and are greeted with smarmy and bitter remarks. Very peculiar, really.

I tried to post on there last night but while I have access to log in I am unable to post as my account is restricted.
I wanted to point out to the idiot who was suggesting big si needs to go cap in hand for donations, actually hasn't donated to the site he is using (no gold star)...
It's a new level of idiot on there now and I'm glad this new forum has been setup. Also the new admin EltonBlues I think it is, seems to be part of the problem with his attitude... Good luck to them, but the youth won't stick around there long

That was pretty strange last night! I've never tried to sway anyone from using one forum over the other and where people prefer to go doesn't really bother me much. I still look over on the other forum out of curiosity but haven't logged in for a while until last night. Unfortunately the ProBoards servers crashed at the worse possible time from a Chester FC point of view - it was nothing to do with this forum, the entire ProBoards network was down. Knowing that a lot of Chester fans would be searching for an outlet to vent their frustrations last night I logged on to old DC and explained what the problem was for those who could not get on to this forum. It was almost like we'd disturbed their peace and I wasn't expecting the responses I got. I actually thought it might have been an opportunity for them to showcase that the board has changed but they preferred to take some strangely smug attitude that this forum had crashed. It got so ridiculous that a comment that I made to inform this forum was back online was edited to say "DC2 off" - I had to go and re-edit it myself to correct it!
As I say, very strange attitude to take with fellow fans, especially given that I've never tried to convince people one way or the other. It seems that they now prefer a closed shop style forum with mainly Senior Blues updates. Shame.

Anyway, after I said about the breakaway needing to happen etc etc, who comes on and goes on a proper mad rant - their new admin EltonBlues.
It was proper weird. He later must have come to his senses and decided to delete it (and my reply along with it).
As an Eltonite, born and bred, I must apologise for that weirdo. We're not all like that - honest!

Judging by the before and after pictures of the changing room posted in that thread is it any wonder we had numerous surprisingly long-term injuries? The previous manager decided a half-time game of Subutteo was more beneficial than soothing aches and pains on a treatment table.

Just noticed that DC1 is approaching 1 million posts, which is really quite extraordinary for a club of our size.
They are on 993707 so only need another 6293, given that there have only been 3 posts in the last 24 hours it may take a bit longer than in the old days.
