Switched over from OTNI’s comfortable, assured lead over Luxembourg in the Nations League last night #GAWA to see history being made as San Marino notched their first EVER competitive win and only their second ever overall win (20 years on from their first, in a friendly). They have now beaten Liechtenstein 1-0 twice.
Already looking well-placed for promotion to League C, with Gibraltar the other team in their League D group.
Hopefully they don’t have to wait another 20 years before their third ever victory. What a night for San Marino.

If you're into international minnows, Gibraltar and Liechtenstein played out a feisty 2-2 draw today where added on time saw two goals, another goal disallowed, and a straight red card.
Loads of these Nations League games can be watched live on the Viaplay YouTube channel. I just watched Spain beat Switzerland, and am now rewatching Georgia's 4-1 win against Czech Republic. Good to see them continuing to impress after the Euros.
I know Premier League fans hate them but I like the international breaks. A good chance to see some less familiar teams and players, plus it probably doesn't do our gates any harm to have no Prem football.

Agreed, I love the international breaks but have struggled to find a decent highlights package on UK providers this past week - managed to find one on the Irish Vrigin Media 2 on my IPTV box. Good live coverage of games with them too including OTNI and Scotland yesterday 👌🏻👍🏻

A lot of people also don't like the nations league, but if it's good for one thing it's giving the likes of San Marino, Liechtenstein and Gib competitive matches against nations of a similar quality

Nations League best thing that’s happened. Means less pointless friendlies with fringe players playing. I don’t watch friendlies, can’t get interested in a game with no reward. Nations league makes it more interesting.

Don’t get what people want. Used to complain about “pointless” international friendlies so FIFA/UEFA have done something about it by having this competition which adds competition to those friendly windows, gives the smaller nations opportunities to improve short-term and long-term by playing regularly against similar level opposition and also acts as a qualification route for major tournaments.
Think it’s great.

I'll be honest, I still don't really understand the format. England get to the Euros final bit end up in a group with Ireland and Finland? Presume it's down to their "relegation" last time but still, it seems a massive drop.
I agree it's made things more competitive and I'm sure I could sit down and understand it if I tried. I used to think there was nothing worse than watching England tip-tap it about in a friendly against Austria or someone, at Wembley with the best seats empty, while that band plays Great Escape again and again, eventually winning 1-0 through a Beckham free kick. I'll watch any football but that's as dull as it gets for me.

Its basically the football version of the Davis Cup in tennis. England finished bottom last time around in their group within League A (the famous humbling by Hungary at Molineux etc) so relegated to League B for this season's.
Four groups of four in League A, B and C, and two groups of three in League D.
The four group winners in League A go into the semi-finals, whilst all other group winners are promoted to the league above. Bottom of the group are all relegated (apart from League D obviously).

The Tim Traveller on YouTube has covered San Marino football a few times previously. Fortunately he was there for this game and his video has gone up today, well worth a watch: He has some more interesting and obscure football content on there too for anyone interested.

Is an IPTV stick one of those things where you get to see the goal 45 seconds after the people watching through terrestrial TV?

Don’t want to watch football in the past. Any football on TV is always a good minute behind the action, as you'll see if you have a betting app/website open while you're watching it.

Maybe you need a better supplier. Never had an issue and I am fairly rural with hit and miss wifi sometimes.Appreciate its 45 to 90 seconds behind the play but the cost saving is immense so I’ll take that.

I recall one World Cup or Euros, don't know which, but in the local pub he had a normal TV in the lounge, and two set up outside in the beer garden via some sort of "stick"
The people in the lounge were cheering a goal whilst the people outside were just sat there still waiting for the corner / free kick to be taken.
