I get the board are friends with Cal, but come on, this lad is making us a laughing stock now, not just on the pitch but off it, this can not continue. He even compares himself to Harry Bassett……, that says it all. He speaks like he is speaking to himself in the mirror and convincing himself he is the man. It’s cringey as hell.
His interview last week was the most embarrassing and weird post match interview ever. Clearly trying to mock the fans that give him stick for his low level management skills. He is so clearly out of his depth and his way of replying is truly embarrassing and over the top Arrogant, I have never known a manager be so arrogant that has done absolutely nothing in any level of senior football, he has bad name for himself already and I know a lot of people in football that can not stand Callum and his arrogance and his truly over the top confidence in himself, people who are like that are just winging it, and it’s so clear to see, he has never done anything in senior football on any front in his career so far. The lad has never even kicked a football, so surly apart from managing kids he should have had a good CV that proves he can take this club further??? We are falling miles behind as a club, we should be further along now and out of this league, our appointment of Callum was a job for the boys appointment. Should never have happened. And it’s unfair on him as well, he would never turn it down through lack of experience, and why would he. The club have give him his dream job on a plate. But as a club we have done this and made the decision to put an under qualified manager in charge.
His interviews make me want to jump through the screen and strangle him, he is so far up his own backside that I just don’t see where he goes from here. He is clearly massively struggling with the job in hand. He looks soooo under pressure that he is now putting on an act of defiance, it’s fake and making a joke of us.
His interviews are literally him talking about him…… and how he wants to protect the players (protect them so much that he told us some individuals have been told in the changing rooms about there performance, this did not need to be said) and how he is used to being called names, and that fans have spat him and tried to get in the tunnel to him?.. I’ve not once heard this and most of us were talking about this last night, he wants the sympathy vote, no matter what the question, he goes back to talking about himself for 5minutes no matter what after every game, he is the most backed manager ever considering he has no decent level of football knowledge at senior level football, and now it is on show for us and everyone else to see, and we are being made to listen to his drivel every week, he is not the answer and never was, he is a fan living the dream like on the football manager game.
The board have a duty of care to end this for him, this is not going to get better, and for our club you should be looking who we can bring in with the knowledge of these levels of football to get us where we need to be. We are in a rut right now and the club needs to freshen up before it’s too late. The players and tactics bought in by Callum are proof he is not the man for the job. Let’s get someone else in who can change our fortunes and we can all get behind us for the rest of the season. Don’t let it pitter out now. Cal is a northern prem manager at best, but with his attitude and arrogance I don’t think he will last anywhere too long.
Send him packing with his beans on toast and a Mike Bassett DVD.

Seek help posting this at 8am. Said it last week - constructive criticism, even frustration is fine to express in my opinion, I did it myself at Curzon and will do it on here time to time. But, outright, uneducated, trump like rants like the above, will drive a wedge between the club and the fans. Please stop. |

Drive a wedge between club and fans?  There is a wedge there as I’ve discussed. Until he goes there is a huge wedge. We need a capable manager it really is that simple. We have a manager that is so far out of his depth that he is evening mocking in his self obsessed interviews. If you endjot spending money to watch him and his team play like we have been then more fool you. Because I am a fan I Want our club to do well, not this level of football. It is awful to watch, you can accept it if we are winning, but we are not. It’s poor and the change has to happen sooner rather than later. We are losing fans every day at the moment. |

The fans that have stopped coming are the ones that are fed up of this constant drivel after games of this guy who thinks he is the special on, with his weird cryptic messages about beans on toast, the pressure is killing him and the team. If you can’t see that then you must be on Football manager with him. |

I’ve only just joined And my team is getting beat I want to hear what our manager says, and it’s awful. If you enjoy it then you clearly don’t know football. It’s embarrassing. Yet another thread criticising the manager & arguing that anyone who disagrees with the tone & content of that criticism is happy for the club to remain where we are.
The fact is that many of us support the club despite where we are, everyone wants to succeed but ranting & raving about the manager achieves nothing.
By the way, the stats show that sacking the manager rarely makes a significant difference to results.

Completely agree with you SB9 . . . No experience whatsoever of playing the game at any serious level, thinks that statistics and graphs win football matches. It’s quite clear that Callum’s forte is working with and along side youth/academy footballers but has no experience whatsoever of coaching/managing in a tough and uncompromising league ie NLN.
Surely, with having the likes of Colin Woodthorpe and Kev Roberts around him, then they would offer advice and guidance throughout difficult periods or does Callum want it to be a completely One-man Show for the first team?
Callum must be very aware that he is under strong scrutiny and that time doesn’t stop.
He may be one person who thinks that tactics are a small white mint sweet, as methodology, strategy and genuine systems and awareness are a long way away.
