I thought the grass looked a bit too long and the pitch was quite dry. The sprinklers weren't used before the game or at half time like last season.

From the main stand the pitch is the worse I have seen at the beginning of the season. Always been a decent pitch just not as lush as it’s been in the past. One or two areas where it’s been patched that’s ok, just hope it lasts a whole season in decent shape!
Not sure what the reason is either!

The weather has been pretty hot with little rain so I have some sympathy with the groundsman. Same at New Road cricket.

Thought it was a relevant point personally and surely a constructive point isn't always classed as a moan or are personal opinions, constructively put across not aloud on here anymore? For what it's worth the pitch was very slow, looked ok from the Harry Mac but the ball was certainly holding up making it tricky for defenders but great for strikers to get in behind. |

It’s definitely not up to it’s usual standard & I don’t think it’s unfair to notice or comment on things that aren’t as expected as long as it’s not nitpicking or trying to have a go at the club for any possible reason.
In this instance the club actually announced that there’s been issues with pitch due to the new sprinkler system that had been installed & you can see that, as others have mentioned, combined with the weather & it’s not at its best but it’s fine, it’s playable & I’m sure it’ll improve.

I might be a sore loser when Chester get beat and always have been, but one thing Chester fc have always had at the Deva, is a class playing surface, might be some problems at the moment but it'll get back to being the best pitch in this league, its good enough for higher leagues .
