I just logged into my account on the old Devachat and laughed my head off when I saw the following message, I thought I'd share it with you: "Your account has been temporarily suspended. This suspension is due to end on Feb 5 2,739,924, 10:43 PM." By my calculations i'll be 2,739,890 years old by then, I'm fairly certain I'm supposed to be offended, but I genuinely couldn't give a rats ass. The new forum is far better and shall reign supreme until the year 15,000,000 And just for the record, Canadian Exile and Devon Blue are most certainly not welcome here, i was prepared to give them a chance to reinvent themselves on the new forum, but chaps you just made that impossible! Anyone else had a ban for as long as I have? Let's have a bit of competition  |

The old boys on DC1 make me laugh. Head in the sand pretending nothing has happened. Can't wait to see the old board fully collapse and DE and CE resigned to history lacking the bully boy power they crave. Tossers both of them and they should be ashamed

To be fair to Canadian Exile I don't think he's involved in much of this. I beg to differ, I had 3 accounts banned all by Canadian exile. All of which said my views are not welcome on this site, one of the, bans was because I posted I was glad that John Danby had been transfer listed. No swearing or aggression in the post, completely baffling. Anyone know who Devon blue actually is? I was under the illusion that it was the recently departed commercial manager Tracey smith/wainwright. Could even be a close friend or relative to her who just wants to ruin deva chat as payback for her sacking from the club. |

I think he's just a well-meaning, probably elderly fan whose idea of how to moderate a forum is overzealous. It didn't work out and this new fourm's been set up in response. No need for the name calling I don't think.

No need for the name calling I don't think. I'm not sure. I don't usually go in for conspiracy theories but I do find it strange how the old forum has been allowed die as it has. As has been said by others, Krankie has been seen as logged in recently but seems unwilling to act. I'm not sure what the motive would be but it does look like Devachat was purposefully allowed to die and almost deliberately helped on its way by CE and DB. |

I had a number of run ins over the past 12 months with the mods (mainly Devon Blue) after I blew the whistle on the Christmas Raffle debacle which was overseen by our former Commercial Manager. I cant quite remember what I said to warrant my ban last summer but it got me looking into the board, its admins and moderators and the way it was run.
One of my former footy teammates was a moderator who still had access to their other hidden forum and was able to assist. Basically the two admins. Devachat hadn't been seen in years and Krankie who was active was uncontactable via PM or email. He also no longer posts on the forum but he lurks from time to time (I've seen him logged in more than once in the mornings).
The 3 active moderators, 3mm was ok. Canadian Exile started to wake up a bit I think towards the end but Devon Blue just carried on regardless as he always had.
When I found out that there had been no validated accounts since December 2015 it raised my eyebrows and got me thinking about a "managed decline" purposely removing users from the site whilst no new blood came in. It was only ever going to end one way really.
So in answer to others, would I like to see Canadian Exile, Devon Blue and Krankie come onboard? Yes, but I would like some honest answers from all 3 of them first as to why the former site was allowed to waste away.

Nobody know the reasons for the failure of DC, but it comes down the Krankie not allowing new members, not just moderation issues. For all we know he may just be unable to continue for forum and wanting it to slowly die out, but let speculation be that and let's jsut enjoy the new forum rather than looking for a bone to pick i say. |
