Couldn't make it last night but sounds like we battled well. Noticed a few comments about White - he's been dire all season. No pace, poor in the area, dreadful first touch, no composure, unable to hold it up.......does he actually have any attributes? Couple that with the fact he's been injury prone the last couple of years, and its obvious he's another McCarthy dud. Solihull were happy enough to let him go in the summer despite having a year to run on his contract, they didn't even want a fee for him. And from what I hear, Bignot never really fancied him when he was manager there. Hell, I'd rather play Chappell ahead of him, who actually has had one or two decent games when he's had to play as a striker or just off a striker.

Exactly right. Both Tom Crawford and Jones have been excellent and are more than capable of playing, in this league .Matty Waters is also developing. If it were me, I would be looking to blood the likes of Cain Noble, Dobson etc. And could Marsh Hughes be any worse than Harry White? You would take Archer, Astles, Gary Roberts and possibly Vose and build a team around them. He looks very good in the youth games I have seen. Physically, he's much stronger than most of the defenders he comes up against, so can brush them aside. I suppose the big question is, when he gets his chance in the first team, how will he compete given the extra physicality of the Conference / Conference North. I'd like to think he'd do a job for us.

I would trust him because of his physicality. Hughes. Jones and Crawford have made the step up with ease. Matty Waters a little but he will get there. He may give us more than White.

That was unlucky last night. There was a clear foul on a Chester player (Hannah) prior to the goal but then again you can't rely on the refs in this league because they are so inconsistent and have mind-boggling methods of thinking. How Mahon got a booking for a player running into him is beyond me!
This Chester side now looks half decent and there has been plenty of effort and endeavour in the past two games. There is also a shape and structure which has been lacking in recent months. Taking out the dreadful Dawson and James from midfield has helped greatly. We now look as if we are playing with a full compliment of players rather than the two aforementioned passengers.
Hobson looks like he has a good future in the game but Crawford looks a star in the making. Not seen a central midfielder as good as this lad in the blue and white in years. What composure and was the best player on the field last night.
The additions of Roberts and Vose have made a huge difference and you can tell they have played League football.
Not going to say anything about Harry White other than the fact that he has the worst first touch of any footballer I've seen. That touch after Crawford's through ball epitomised how bad he is!
Anyway I think if we keep to this system and play the way we have been doing over the past 180 mins survival is not out of the question.

No lack of effort and much improved from a few weeks ago. Lacked quality in the final third Needed Mahon and Vose to take the game to Orient. which they didnt really do. Vose is quality but it didnt really come off for him tonight, on another day it will. Roberts and the excellent Tom Crawford kept it ticking over in midfield. but we didnt really create enough or put a decent Orient team under any sustained pressure. Just a pity this team wasnt put together 2 months ago and we would have had a decent chance of staying up. Special shout out for Tom Crawford whose passing, distribution, technical ability and vision , is way beyond his years. Easily MOM and will definately play at a much higher level. You could build a team around him and Gary Roberts. Roberts with his experience and quality is a latter day Paul Carden and for me has done more to justify a contract, in 3 matches than James Dawson and Turnbull have done in 6 months Agree with all that. My only addition would be that Vose and Mahon needed to give us width but didn’t and despite his skill Vose lost the ball too often and slowed the ball down at times when a quick pass would have kept up our attacking momentum. Orient’sdefence was excellent (esp thier number 2) and giving them time to get back and get organised was never going to help us. I think Vose was trying too hard last night he was billed as the match winner on Saturday which must have put pressure on him to do something special last night, but it just ended with him doing to much and getting the ball taken off him. I also think he has got to play on the right as he’s got no left foot at all, at least Mahon can go past people and use his left foot so swop them over or don’t play both of them.

if you look at Vose...hes only got one style of play...you dont have to be the best defender in the world to work him out,he looks world class in every game for about two minuets...then hes sussed out...after all...he wouldn't be playing for nowt if he was any good...really feel now in the league we are starting to loose touch..

It wasn't all negative tonight, but for all our effort we didn't trouble them too much. I would love to know why, for the last 2 and a half seasons, we are never first to a second ball. Whether it's on the edge of our box or theirs, it always falls to the opposition. No idea if its tactical or fitness related, but it can't be luck. Teams pen us in so easily. We did okay in spells and nobody could question the effort of any of them, but not enough quality to make that final pass. Hannah was well off his game, first touch was poor all night. We need him firing if we're to stand a chance against good teams. Also, I'm absolutely done with Harry White. I'm sure he's a lovely lad but he's just nowhere near good enough at this level. As soon as he came on, any momentum we had just fell away. I was also absolutely convinced he bottled a challenge seconds after coming on, just before their goal. I'd have to see the replay, perhaps I'm being harsh, but it absolutely looked like his ball and he just didn't want to know. We've improved, but we have to do more to get behind our opposition. Hopeful clipped balls down the channels are fine every so often, but it was clear it wasn't working tonight and there wasn't a plan B. Absolutely agree about Tom Crawford. What a player! I completely understand why he had to come on with another game Saturday for Archer but i completely agree, we lost any attacking threat with the ball bouncing off him and as for that chance. Just so poor.

Held on to the ball a little too much trying to win the game on his own. He has talent, no doubt about that but he needs to mix it up a bit.

I think Vose has been told to come here and make things happen by Bignot. You can see his natural ability is far above his level, it's going to be about finding his position and accommodating him correctly.
For me, he looks like he should be playing directly behind Ross Hannah in a 10 position. Let him roam around and do what he wants, he's good enough!

Not quite a team player. A very frustrating player because yes, he has a lot of talent. I hope he does well for you tbh. A joy to watch when he's on top form. (Wouldn't want him back though!)

In agreement, drop a striker and let him play in the 10 role. 1. It gives him freedom 2. It means we have someone willing to track back at left back 3. If he loses the ball, there's another bank of players to get past whilst now it can put us on the back foot. 4. Closes the obvious gap between strikers and midfield currently - 2nd balls currently never won.

(Wouldn't want him back though!) selfish player, easily marked out of a game, couple of physical tackles early in a game and a defender will have him in his pocket, and he will sulk the rest of the game.... already showing glimpses of these traits, that are mentioned on every clubs fans site he has played for.....
