I would ask outright what he is prepared to do to help financially as Halls did given our situation. At least ask as nothing to lose....then keep him and play him and he'll get a bagful in this league and increase his value and sell him at Xmas ! In the meantime as now part time, insist all training at Chester an nowhere else !

I think Hannah will end up at Southport or Guiseley and I think we’ll end up cutting our losses somewhere. It could be the case he’ll accept a lesser wage at another Club but we’ll have to pay the difference for those 12 months.

I think we're using the wrong terminology when it comes to Hannah's deal. He isn't holding anyone to ransom. Ultimately we offered him a deal and from his side of that He's fulfilling that contract signed. It's us who are trying to back out of it, because of silly terms offered and the realisation that we face financial turmoil next season if we don't sort the situation. I think I speak for the majority when I say that I wouldn't leave my job with a family/house to pay for if someone just said please. We've got ourselves into this mess, it's up to us to help him and us get out of it.

Totally agree...torn between cutting our wage bill and generating additional income from a proven goal scorer ? It's his career and livelihood so doesn't deserve abuse. Perhaps with Salford lads Ross could be a mutual asset ? More potential then Kingsley ? So back off the Hannah abuse ?

I'd keep him he didn't have very good first half to season fair enough but second half he's was decent imo and will be a vital player to keep for next season

Yes but Hannah was pretty shocking too and never justified the salary.Sorry,"I really dont get the love in. Keep Hannah or possibly bring 2 part time players in or give contracts to a couple of youth team players. Cain Noble etc, its a no brainer. Get rid.

We can’t afford to keep him. His £ per goal ratio would be really crap business unless he were to stay fit all season & score ~20 goals. But if we can’t get him moved on then I’m sure he’ll have a better season than last.

So we can offer him that. At national league north level he would score goals too. If we are higher up the league with the goals going in, crowds would be higher meaning we would be able to afford him.

We can't afford to keep Hannah on the books it's as simple as that.
From the interview he is obviously digging his heels in over a move and wants paying off, which is fair enough.
Thing is, it could cost us a serious amount of wedge to pay him off. Just highlights how poor a deal it was financially last summer.

For those hinting about keeping him.
James and Hannah would take roughly 100k of our 250k budget.
They have to leave, its as simple as that

Well that could be said for every premiership club. How does Marcus Rashford feel about his wages compared to Paul Pogba?

Connor Rawlinson joins Port Vale having left TNS. Was he not a Chester City trainee in our final 2009/10 season? Yes he was I notice Vale have also signed Brendon Daniels, who had a brief loan spell with us a few years ago.

The "salaries" being banded about for RH and KJ seem to be changing daily. This is from the minutes of CFU meeting 8th March: Kingsley James, Ross Hannah, Jordan Archer, Matty Waters, Craig Mahon; Paul Turnbull has now left and KJ is on loan to Barrow until the end of the season. Liabilities remain about £100k but everything possible is being done to get this figure down. Quite clearly the £100k figure also includes 3 other contracted players.

They have to leave, its as simple as that They're not on 50k a year ffs The general view is that Hannah is on something not far off that figure. If he's on £900pw. it's either keeping someone who was poor last season and takes a sixth of our budget. Or bring in 3 players who will perform, and try hard. Realistically we will need to part fund the move. Hopefully not too much. Sorry. But I thought Hannah's attitude and performance was out of order last season. He didn't show respect to us, his wage payers, so he gets none back from me. The other players did actually look like they were trying.

By the informal meeting held at St Theresa's that had gone upto £140k according to LK - not many noticed that rather large leap. If im correct back in the January "all hell let loose" meeting LK quoted £125k for contracted players for this coming season....anyone else confused by leaping around of figures

Don't forget that on top of the players wages. the Club has to pay employers NI at 12% and perhaps a pension contribution of 2%. It all adds up and on that basis the Club would have to set aside another £37.5k to cover the cost of NI and pension contribution. in addition to players wages, or is that included in the £250k

Dont know what it is about Hanna lets face it He was injured best part of the season and didnt really get going but didnt he finnish top goal scorer ? He was signed when we were part time first time round and was very happy with that situation so when we went full time and everyone were saying it wouldnt suit him i think was not true maybe better for him being part-time and we can come to some sort of compromise lets see what the new bosses come up with I think like he says he loves the club and if he can agree a new contract on a lesser wage We could still have here next season I hope so we will need the likes of Ross Hanna to score goals and there are not many about.

Well there wont be much left all the decent players willbe signed by other clubs the way things a going ?. People say that every year, but most of our better signings are made well into June and July.
Bear in mind that most of the players being signed now are ones that clubs had no hesitation in releasing, and there's a reason for that. Our first signing last year was Harry White, enough said!
Calm down everyone - the close season is three whole months long!
