Martin Allen the Chesterfield manager has revealed that this season's playing budget was slashed by £1.2 million, and that he had done well to get a decent squad together. This puts it into perspective what type of player that our managers can afford on our limited budget,

...so what is Chesterfield’s revised budget now? No perspective unless we know.

...so what is Chesterfield’s revised budget now? No perspective unless we know. The aim was to get it below £1 million. I would imagine that has just about been acheived. You would hope that would be competitive in this league but some of the dross we have on board would suggest otherwise.

They were paying one player £5.5k per week, but managed to offload him.

They were paying one player £5.5k per week, but managed to offload him. We weren't. We were playing Chris O'Grady around £4k. He was allegedly our highest paid player ever. He scored about 3 goals and was generally awful. His contract was settled up along with a few others so while Allen may say that the budget has been cut right down, a lot of money will have been paid out settling up these contracts on top of the budget. We're still in big trouble financially.

Even £4k per week is an awful lot for a League 2 player and it's no wonder you are in the sh!te financially.

I think that may have been with add on's, goal bonuses etc. No danger of him getting those payments. Our story is one of lies, lies and more lies, on top of the gross mismanagement on and off the pitch.

I think National League Premier is League 3 in all but name.

How does Chris O’Grady’s salary compare with that of Adam Rooney of Salford?

I think National League Premier is League 3 in all but name. Indeed. It was a good start but never convincing. The 4 defeats are coupled with hoofball rubbish. It's pretty grim all round. Although to be fair to Allen, he has lost a few to injury. Charlie Carter who we signed from Woking looked a real player and Sam Wedgebury, who you will know, wiped out his ACL on his full debut in only our 4th game. Rumour is, Rooney is on £4k ish at Salford so I would imagine similar.
