I really really cannot believe they are screwing another club over.
The 'offering supporters group the club for a pound' just brings back so many memories of the same conversation I had with Vaughan Senior whilst stood at my desk in work, an hour long lunch break dominated by that call. What came with that pound? Oh yes, upwards of a £1m debt, half of which was owed to one certain family.
Still remember the call I also got threatening the existence of my knee caps. Such a pleasant time that was.
We're coming up to the 9th anniversary of the day our CCFC went under in the High Court and even though we are having a tough time in the National League North right now, we should never ever forget what this family did to our club, and the battle we faced together not just to get over that, but to bring us together and up the leagues again.

Can't believe they are being allowed to be associated with another football club. Vaughan Snr and Jnr have both served jail terms for serious offences. Vaughan Jnr should be banned from being involved. d |

They definitely had some 'associates' trying to spin things on the old DC. Some very unpleasant things used to crop up on there. For all that Deva Chat gets stick and isn't perfect, SV hated it, and that's because he couldn't deal with the fact that he had no control over it.
When you start following a football club, you sign up for the misery and heartache, but there were things that happened under the Vaughans that simply weren't something that should be part and parcel of being a supporter.

Yet again another awful piece of journalism.
Where are these reporters with some balls to ask the questions that should have been asked after Barrow, ourselves and Widnes.
We can blame the FA all we like, and they are culpable in allowing this to happen, but come on not one piece of that article referred to their previous history at destroying football clubs.

It's the only way for them though, I'm sure the majority will see it that way.

Think I'm right in saying Jim Rushe has now left the Vics, so perhaps in time them and 1874 can shake hands and merge back into one club, but there may be too much bad blood between the fans that went their different ways.
Next time the Vaughans try to get hold of a club - and they will keep trying - the fans should do everything they can to block it, and if they can't they should probably save themselves time and set up a breakaway club there and then. Their club-killing record is truly prolific. It seems they can get round any bans just by finding some other mug to put the club's name under, plus I think Vaughan Sr.'s ten-year ban on being a company director came into effect in 2009, so it may well be up by now.

I remember informing a few people at Oldham a few years ago when Fat CNUT V*****n Snr. tried to take over. He was using his son in law, Sammy Lee as a front if I recall. Thankfully, the fans listened as did the owner at the time and didn't sell. Horrible piece of work, I wonder if his parents were ever proud of him? |
