Hahahaha grow up have you seen the state or what they serve in stands ?? Worst food in non league woeful They make plenty of money of us if they didn’t they wouldn’t be here would they Grow up? Ffs, how old are you?? Anyway, awful company - just because they serve food you don't particularly like, how does that make them an awful company? As for worst food, very debatable. Stocking up wise - no pies available at Kiddy as sold out!! Now that was shocking! As for making lots of money off of us, that would mean we are making lots of money as well, as we split the profits and we dont carry the whole burden of staff and surplus stock. We get it, you work for D&A. The food is a disgrace. Crap firm, crap caterers.

Really enjoyed the food at Kiddy, but I’d take our food and winning 4-1 every week any day 😂

I remember the last time there was this much optimism about the team - a catering thread ran on for about 6 or 7 pages.

Supermarkets know what they’re doing selling sweets and similar at the checkouts, with short term captive audiences. I’d certainly buy stuff at half-time if I didn’t have to go and queue, so people selling from baskets or trolleys direct to the terraces would get my money. It works at the theatre and the cinema (haven’t been for years!).

Just feel some people aren't understanding the point of having caterers. Ok, it's not perfect but the point is they prevent is making a loss on the catering side.

Very small wastage probability but would this have to be staffed by the caterer and if not, would they agree to it?

One improvement would be to switch to card only payments. Was at the Amex in Brighton on Saturday and they don't take cash at the kiosks. Speeds up the whole process hugely, not having to wait for cash to be tendered, place in the till and give change. Definitely the way forwards.

As for making lots of money off of us, that would mean we are making lots of money as well, as we split the profits and we dont carry the whole burden of staff and surplus stock. I was critical that we aren't making the most of the food and drink opportunities, but I accept that having D&A provide many aspects that we would have trouble in doing without investment in staffing and the risk of making a loss for postponed games or food not sold. However, I don't see why they can't freshen up the offer a bit. I don't think the food is too bad personally but it's true in saying that compared to a lot of non league clubs it's not a great offering. What about pie and peas, pretty easier and a guaranteed winner with grassroots football fans? Perhaps some variations on a guest ale in the Blues Bar. Just small things, that wouldn't be different to put in place, and surely we are within our rights to provide feedback to the supplier who can then act accordingly? I'll drink lager in the Blues Bar but I'm never sure that it's being kept particularly well, the beers are always on the lively side! I'd expect a contracted company to be able to provide a bit more assistance with the general set up in the bar e.g. only one till, some of the pumps have seen better days, sporadic use of the mobile bar. Having said that, on Saturday the bar was much better as the tables had been moved out which created a lot more standing space, and the mobile bar did have some issues but it was noticeably quicker getting a pint that it has been for previous, lower attended games. Perhaps a few tall standing tables would be better on match days so you've got somewhere to put your pint whilst chatting. I know the outside beer tent idea has been done to death and we know the problems with the SAG but surely D&A as a respected catering supplier could put a good argument across with the powers that be. It would just be nice to be able to have permission to even do it just 5 times a season etc, so those games can be targeted and tied in with themed days/weather/form. We all go to the game primarily to watch the team, but all the things like food and drink contribute to the match day experience, and it's not exactly a new thing that fans have complained about the match day experience. The match day for too many is from 2:30pm until the final whistle - I think D&A could be a lot more proactive in working with us to see how we can get people in the ground for longer and spending more money which ultimately benefits the football club and them as a business.

Well put and agree. Who is responsible our side to liaise with the caterers? G Delves? Certainly think a couple of ideas should be implemented. And shows willingness to work with the club. If we treat companies who work with us with respect, we can expect something in return. I have over 30 years hospitality experience at a managerial level and it frustrated me to hear people calling a business partner of the club awful, crap, etc. My apologies if anyone felt offended.

I’m with UTS. It’s a poor fair at the kiosks now. Had a coffee yesterday and it was awful. Much preferred Cock’o’barton and the sideless pies. And the blues bar is terrible now.

I think Dougherty and Allen do a good job in the main. What they do do that gives them great credit is the hot pot suppers they put on when there is a youth game at the stadium to raise money for our excellent Youth side. I believe that all the profits from these meals go to the youth team. They're put on by the Senior Blues or the Fundraising team, not by D+A. They're actually organised by some members of the Legend's Lounge. D & A do the catering. Not sure why the SBs take the plaudits.

Think we should approach Kidderminster’s caterers - I’m not aware of any national league rules on tapping them up mid season when they are under contract (unless anyone else is). All it would take is a van to whizz a few up the road to us a couple of days before match day.

Too righ UTS, unfortunately I don't make too many home games unsurprisingly and although the catering hasn't bothered me before, there are some truly woeful offerings I've witnessed on the road with the Blues the last 35 years! however, to agree with the OP, I agree that some senior level club discussion with the caterers wouldn't harm anything as many fans feel there could be room for improvement but business partners of the club have to be treated respectfully.

This is separate to the hot pots at the SBs meetings in the Blues Bar.

Good viewing this. Back to the catering thing I’ve always been of the opinion that kiddie make all of their pies etc in house in that kitchen. Their food is not made by a catering company as far as I am aware.

Hate going off topic again but here goes anyway.
Running out of food i totally get, its perishable and if it doesn't sell it goes in the bin and thats not on.
But as a previous poster has mentioned, running out of soft drinks, at half time?
I think we all knew about a week before the met office had said brace yourselves for the hottest August bank holiday on record, so to run out of drinks with a shelf life of months and months on them is simply unacceptable given the expected heatwave.
We cant please all the people all the time, but we should certainly have a major review of how our catering is managed.

Every now and again, you see a defender head a corner off the line, and someone will wisely pipe up with "that shows the importance of having a man on the post, that does". But it doesn't happen very often, and half the time the man on the post lets it past him anyway (see Colombia's goal against England in the last World Cup), and it ignores the fact that the ball might never have reached the line had the defender been marking players rather than apparatus.
It's an example of survivorship bias, basically - thinking something works because you don't see when it doesn't work.
Anyway, churlish to moan too much about that. Love Dudley's finish for the second and looks like Jackson tore them to shreds.

Any surplus pies and sausage rolls could be flogged on the cheap in the Blues Bar afterwards, I'm sure this used to happen years ago and would always get sold. As you said, it was obvious that we'd get anything between 2400 and 3000 for this match so surely you stock accordingly. It just needs a conversation with D&A to provide constructive feedback from the customer base, which surely they'd welcome rather than people being put off from buying from the kiosks or going in the bar. They're not quite getting it right at the moment, so the offering needs to be tweaked.

Agree about the drink issues on Monday (all they had left at HT when I went was bottles of water).
One thing that occurred to me (without being too controversial) is that we don’t charge enough for refreshments (particularly as effectively it is a captive market)
I’m not suggesting that we make it £5 for a Twix or anything like that but I feel as a fan owned club, reliant on any income, that £1.50 for a cold bottle of Diet Coke, is very cheap. I feel that we could easily get £2, without exploiting fans and still be much cheaper than other football teams/sporting events/concerts etc. I understand that it’s a balance, not exploiting fans but as money is tight at the club, it’s 1 easy win. After all, fans don’t have to buy items and I’m sure if you bought 1/2 litre of coke in the bar, it would be much more expensive than £1.50!

Surely, Blueboy, the extra income would go to D And A, our caterers, and would not benefit the club. I like my £1 cup of tea!
