What's the word on injuries to Apter and Stephenson. With them 3 - 0. Without them 1 - 1

Realistically every game from now on will feel like a dead rubber, however our previous clashes against Hereford FC at the Deva have been extremely entertaining affairs with us winning 3-0, 4-1, and 5-3 respectively in our last three meetings, so hopefully we will be in for another action-packed afternoon today. The visitors have been inconsistent since their promotion to the National League North in 2018, which contrasts to a fellow phoenix club in ourselves who managed to achieve an immediate promotion back to the National League in 2013, however Hereford are looking a lot stronger this time out though so it will be a tricky test today. In recent weeks we have performed very well at home against some of the higher sides, as AFC Fylde, Brackley Town, and Southport have all failed to win at the Deva so it wonโt be as easy as The Bulls faithful think it will be for them today. I am positive about our chances of returning to winning ways today as we have a healthy home record, but it is our frustrating record away from home that has let us down throughout the entire season as we are a ridiculously inconsistent side. Our last match was last Saturday as we lost 2-1 away against Darlington where we fell apart after leading early on. The first half was promising from us as we were very organised at the back, while at the other end things came to fruition. We took the lead relatively early on through loanee Marcus Dackers, who pounced on a loose ball to slot home to make it 0-1 to us. Our lead was short-lived though, because five minutes later Junior Mondal dinked the ball over a helpless Wyll Stanway to ensure Darlington made it 1-1. Thus, having failed to hold onto our lead we headed into half time on level terms. Meanwhile, our showing in the second period was bitterly disappointing because rather than attempting to retake the lead we fell apart. Towards the hour mark George Smith made it 2-1 to a resurgent Darlington side by thumping in from range. Despite losing for most of the half we failed to push for a goal, therefore we made the long journey back down South empty handed. Hereford FC will be making the venture from Herefordshire having had a very promising campaign thus far. Having secured their first promotion to this level in 2018 as a reformed club with the original Hereford United going out of business in 2014, the new Hereford FC have struggled to mount a serious promotion bid to the National League, however their dreams of playing football in the fifth tier are looking much more realistic this time around under the stewardship of Josh Gowling. If results go their way The Bulls will move into the play-offs today providing they win against us, as they look to bounce back from a 3-0 pasting at local rivals Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday. Two former Seals could make a return to the Deva this afternoon, who are Steve Burr and Ryan Lloyd. Assistant manager Steve was appointed as our manager in January 2014 where I thought he did a great job in providing us with a very entertaining 2014-15 season. However, in the following campaign we were heading towards the relegation zone after a promising start, so he was rightly relieved of his duties in April 2016. Meanwhile, in January 2020 Burr was appointed as the assistant manager for Hereford FC, which is where he has been at ever since. Finally, centre midfielder Ryan joined us on loan from Port Vale in November 2015 until May 2016 where he had a very productive loan spell here. In August 2016 he rejoined us on loan until January 2017, although in March 2017 Ryan extended his stay here until May 2017 when he returned to Port Vale, where I thought he didnโt perform as well as he did in his first spell. Lastly, Ryan signed for Hereford FC in October 2020 which is where he has been at ever since. The disruption of Storm Eunice will probably have a negative impact on our attendance today, particularly on the contingent from Hereford, but our home record has generally been strong all season so hopefully it will be another enjoyable match at the Deva. I canโt see it being a pretty watch this afternoon with the swirling winds from Storm Eunice making it a scrappy affair (a la Leamington at home), however as long as we win like we did against Leamington then that is all I care about. To be frank we are going nowhere this season, however this is still not to say we have nothing to play for because our players have to fight for their futures, while we must aim to finish as high as we possibly can in the league table. SW said it was unlikely that those who'd been out injured would be available. Except maybe Luke Clarke. Whether that included Stephenson and Apter, who knows. Wouldn't expect a hamstring to clear up in a week, so expect Stephenson will be missing.
SW did drop a hint that Okagbue might get a start.

Fear that if Stephenson and Apter are missing that will be the difference today but it gives other players the chance to prove themselves.

Makes a massive difference if Stephenson and Apter are not playing. I would have Roberts and Burke holding, Weeks pushed further forward for the creativity. Roach right wing, Simmonds left, with Dackers and Waring upfront.
