The Mars-Jones Harry McNally Terrace.
From the blurb…
“The Mars-Jones sponsorship of the Harry Mac marks a significant milestone being the first business to sponsor the stand since our reformation.”
Yeah, there’s a reason for that.

We can't afford to turn away sponsorship and we are still incorporating the great man's name in the title

Even Vaughan didn’t dare do this. The absolute state of you, comparing our current board to Vaughan. The terrace is called the Harry McNally Terrace, as per the great big fucking sign on it. It's sponsored by a local company supporting its local club, that's all. Anything for a dig.

What’s sacred about a shitty tin sign with someone’s name on it?
You’re a bad wet wipe mancot

Weird take on the club bringing in more much needed revenue and more support of local businesses in the area through advertisement of their work.
If you'd been co-opted onto the board, you'd of been chasing leads like this to promote the club and increase funds - right?
Sometimes Nathan, it's clear you just want to poke people into a reaction and I think it's because the above didn't happen.

I’m sure that as a fan owned club and proud, we’d favour external sponsorship funding opportunities like these to safeguard our sustainable financial status.

Are the finances in such a state that we now have to have the Harry Mac sponsored? What’s different now from 2018 when it was really bad?
Obviously we need to generate income, I get it, but I always thought the brand naming of the iconic terrace to honour a legendary cult figure was out of bounds - we’ve managed to stave it off for 13 years, what has changed now?
To quote another forum contributor, I consider myself a heritage supporter, a traditionalist, not a fan of the mass over-commercialisation of the game.
But if the books have got to the point where we have had to say “right, after 13 years we need to finally free up the Harry Mac for sponsorship naming rights, we can’t afford not to any longer” then surely we need to know how bad they are?

Could be worse, the ground could be called "The Cheshire County Asylum Deva Stadium" in honour of the former names of the mental hospital!

Local company offers sponsorship to help us pay off fines and buy a striker
Local gonad moans about it

Now looking at the new signage on the side of the roof above the Harry Mac terracing this evening. It seems very reminiscent of Sealand Road where such sponsorship above the terracing was a signature of The Stadium. Bravo!

I would imagine it's never been sponsored before because no-one has ever offered to sponsor it. Fully behind a local company who are probably fully aware of the importance of what they are sponsoring. I think the majority of fans are grateful for the financial support.

They can’t be paying much for the sponsorship, so is it really worth it to give up the naming rights to the only stand in the stadium that means anything / creates any atmosphere?
After Cal’s budget comments Saturday, I’m a bit bemused about what’s going on? We must have a top 8 budget surely? Season ticket record sales and 100k + on the budget build and good attendances last year?
I know we’ve stated quality over the quantity in the squad but I can only guess Taylor, Weeks, Caton and Whitehouse are on absolute wedges for this level?

The easy solution to this FOT is for you to go down to the club tomorrow and offer pay what the sponsors have, and leave the stand wording unchanged…simple

Find it difficult to believe that we’ve managed with ease to find sponsors for the other three stands for years and years but struggled to get anyone to sponsor the Harry Mac? I’d like to believe that we never made the Harry Mac available for nostalgic sentimental reasons… until now.

It will be interesting to see the breakdown of the record season ticket sales to be fair. Heavily reduced for young people and free for kids so would need to see the itemised breakdown of sales for each of those categories.

Seem on a right downer with everything today. 😉 Nothing negative about that particular comment - BS is querying the manager’s budget comments in relation to record ST sales but if we knew there were only 600 full paying adults, 400 Under 21 discounts and 1,000 free Under 12s it might answer the question that’s all!

Slow night in the Mancot household tonight clearly. An all time low for you this
Nothing surprises me with this melon anymore
If you're that bothered Nathan, get down to the club tomorrow and voice your opinions or will you log on here on your phone every 15 minutes to stir more bullshit
Credit to Georgina; she is doing one hell of a job

The usual merry band of certain posters acting all big because you know my name 🤷🏻♂️
Not to mention seemingly taking offence to any tiny bit of questioning - ever since the Brackley aftermath and gaslighting.
Why hasn’t the stand been sponsored for 13 years until now? It won’t be because we’ve struggled to find a sponsor when we’ve had multiple sponsors for the other three stands during that entire time. Just would be nice to know if this change has been borne out of necessity - in light of previously mentioned budget comments, or whether we’ve just decided now to break with tradition.
Would be nice to save some level of tradition, that’s all. There’s nothing wrong with that.

That is who he is and what he does.
I don't think the club is rich enough to be able to turn away money.

That’s the point I’m trying to get to - are we in a worse financial state than we thought? Is this why after 13 years we have decided to open up the previously off-limits terrace for naming rights? As I said, a breakdown of the categories of the record season ticket sales would give us a better idea.

I mean, it's still called the Harry Mac and we're getting extra sponsorship, so what's the issue?

You're never going to get the inside finances of the football club answered on here. Maybe the season ticket breakdown, certainly not your previous comment.

Are we in a worse financial state? Probably, we can't sell out the ground, and we having a fucking big fine coming our way.
Plus we want to get players in. I thought you'd be happy you sell, you'd your principles for a free holiday to Turkey..

So we can't obtain sponsorship for the main stand anymore then now it's named after Gary Talbot? The south stand won't be able to sponsored in the future as it's named after Barry Hipkiss.
A local company wants to sponsor a stand which is now getting full most games with a feel good factor in there. The club should always be looking to maximize commercial income regardless if the accounts are in a good or bad way.

The stand still has the Harry Mac signage, it just has the sponsors name either side of that. Effectively nothing has changed except we've added a sponsor. Had people gone to the game they would have seen that (unless they were in the Harry Mac that is).
