Four weeks ago I’d never for one moment believe that we would be playing must-win games by the end of August, but three points really is imperative for us today. We were hard done by a chronic referee in Scarborough the other day, who craved being the centre of attention, and I really felt sorry for our lads as you couldn’t fault their effort on the day. The reality is though, we still haven’t found the net in all three away games, plus we’ve failed to score in four of our five fixtures in total, which is starting to concern me. On the other hand, I’ve been really encouraged by our two home displays against King’s Lynn Town and Chorley, as we finally seem to be playing our own game at the Deva, which we must turn into a fortress to have any hope of doing well this season. It’ll be another tricky test this afternoon, as Farsley Celtic have been one of the surprise teams given that they’re unbeaten in their first five clashes. Darren Stephenson, who I hope will receive a healthy reception today, will be up for this, and he’s a form man having found the net three times already for the Yorkshire side this campaign. No need to hit the panic button just yet, as this time last season we’d also lost three out of our first five matches, and after all it’s a marathon not a sprint. If we were to somehow fail to win this afternoon, however, then I would start to worry, but in the meantime let’s all get right behind the boys and make an electric atmosphere. Up The Seals!
Score - Chester FC (Hall, Evans) 2-0 Farsley Celtic.
Attendance - 2,269 (34 Farsley Celtic).

we have found goals hard to come by this season but today a 4 - 1 win is on the way and the crowd must get behind the team COYB

I’m going for a 0-1 defeat. Think we will be bullied by the physical style of the opposition. 2175 in attendance with 45 away fans.

Time to bounce back, and burst Farsley’s bubble in the process. 3-1 win, goals from Burke, Murray and Evans.

Be surprised if we score never mind win today but I feel that Hall is gonna hit the woodwork for the 4th game in a row but this time it will actually go in. Daz will score against us as he seems to have his shooting boots on now.
Chester 1-1 Farsley. 1987 (28 away)

And there is a prime example why nobody should read anything into a league table until November time.
Farsley were utter shit.
Take the 3 points and the second half as a training session and off we go.

Much better today. After the two early goals the result was never really in doubt - not sure Stanway had to make a save.
Declan much more like his old self too. Hopefully his fitness level is getting back to normal, and his game is improving as a result.
The only minor niggle would be that we should have won by more than 2. Several times we got into very good positions, only to shoot high and wide - work on the training ground needed.

Good response today thought Declan was superb expected a bit more from Farsley given the start they have had but we completely stifled everything they tried and made them look a bang average side. Spennymoor beaten by Blyth this afternoon so lets kickstart our away season on Saturday

Good performance and comfortable win. Never looked troubled. Could have, and should have been a four or five goal winning margin. Effective shooting practice required !

Good solid effective performance, didn't need to get out of 2nd gear for the second half. Roberts making a huge difference. Would be great to have seen Kole Hall get a goal.
Why we have fans moaning about Stanway not releasing the ball early I don't know. We're 2-0 up and in complete control.
Only gripe is catering out of hot food by half time
We back to winning ways hopefully and those in B Block can judge our performance on the fact the 'voice of B Block' didn't utter a word

Played well from the first minute, they didn't even have a shot I don't think! But we could of got another 4/5 goals so abit wasteful again. My MOTM was roberts, makes a huge difference to the team.

Absolutely agree Roberts does a lot of work that goes unnoticed & like you say makes a massive difference to our team. Arguably the most important player for us. Sort the away form out & we'll be laughing as at home our defence has been exceptional.

About as easy a 2-0 as you're ever going to see. Could and should have had more. Kole fantastic, real handful for Farsley, did everything other than score.
Good to see Glendon back in, solid shift from him. Thought we did well overall and thoroughly deserved the win
