I think the draw for this will be on Monday, since the first round was today. I think we could get any of the teams in the ties numbered 1-40 below, as well as most of the NLN teams. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023%E2%80%9324_FA_Cup_qualifying_rounds#First_qualifying_roundWent to watch Prescot Cables today. They look a decent side. 4-2 was no reflection of how much they dominated that match. As always,my preference is the lowest-ranked team at home, so Albion Sports, Lincoln United or Worcester City.

Last season I would have said anyone away but this year it’s anyone at home.

Any Manchester team away. Won't be Radcliffe. Bern and Jonno's North East curse continued at Morpeth.

I've just spent more than an hour perusing all of the preliminary rounds FA Cup results so far since early August. I like to think I have a good grasp of geography, but probably don't know three quarters of the places. There were a scattering of familiar ones and places I played at when I was a keeper at a Wessex League team. Some very odd names in there like Salami FC. I see there's a very local derby replay on Tuesday of West Auckland Town and Bishop's Auckland who are only a mile and a half apart. And I'm glad to see my local team Wimborne Town are in the hat for the next round. Is it the first round proper when it is no longer regionalised?

Notice from those results that Telford lost at home in the first qualifying round. That must represent them reaching a new low point.
As for us, I’d go along with the wish for a straightforward-looking home tie. I suppose if we get a minnow away then there’s every chance it might be the BBC’s pick for the live game on the red button, but it hasn’t happened yet in five years at this level.

Selfishly I'd love Lincoln Utd away as it's so close to me but for the club, a home tie would be better

8 years since we last got out the qualifying stages which is shite - I know we all got carried away with Oldham, me included, but it was still a qualifier….
Really would love to see a run this year, money for the bank and some exposure, think Marine v Spurs and so on

Nice town is Tadcaster. Home of Samuel Smiths brewery with proper beer in proper pubs (no phones, music or TV allowed). I’ve drank in their flagship pub with its horses stables attached.
Get on the Northern Rail 50p flash sale today lads!

A lot to be said for old school pubs where conversation between folk is king.
Had a game of Jenga over a pint of Taddy’s Lager in the Gawain in Connah’s Quay the other week.

Those type of pubs aren't for me, sounds like an awful experience. Give me a pub with some background music and footy on tv all day long over an old man pub playing jenga and drinking random ale that most haven't heard of. A nice novelty for older folk that may have had more pubs like that in their youth, but sounds very outdated to me and not fair on staff to have to enforce those rules.
Sounds like a winnable game anyway - we should have enough nous and professionalism about us to navigate these tests but might not be easy.
