Bit of a random one but the sealand road ground was before my time and I was just wondering if anyone knows the exact location of it, am I right in thinking it was where B&M is now? Would love to hear the from the older fans about what it was like .?

Still spiritual home for me, millions time better location. Although the terracing was crumbling towards the end. Good old days of the ball hitting the roof and then covered in rust etc. Being able to walk round to watch us attacking opposite goal second half. The new main stand should have had a paddock in front of it never looked right with that empty space. That stand is probably what’s missing at the present ground for one it had a larger social club (use to watch bets lose on ITV World of Sport before the match).

There was a club in front of the ground called The Cestrian.

Doesn’t look far on there but in reality it’s the longest walk known to man down Bumpers Lane.

Thanks for sharing. My first game at the Deva was 1995, but I'm still a bit too young to remember the Sealand Road stadium Pardon my ignorance, but when were the Deva Link and Sovereign Way roads built?

Is the brick / plaque whatever you want to call it, that was in the back wall of the Sealand End in the back wall of B&M or have I dreamt that?

No, it was broken when the wall was demolished, but was rescued and has been restored. It is now on the Deva on the wall next to the ticket office. There is a nice information board with it too.

One of the main things that stands out to me here is how much greener and less developed the area around Bumpers Lane looks. Might just be because it’s an aerial photo, but it somehow seems slightly less soulless than it is now.

You got a fabulous view of Chester city centre from the new main stand, especially the town hall and the old Odeon cinema now called Storyhouse. The players used to train on the Annexe next to the old stadium and we used to watch in school holidays.I believe one lad got his arm broken from a shot by Hugh Ryden!? He did have a really hard shot on him!!

Going back further Rhodri, if you walked down Bumpers Lane away from the current ground and stood by Stokers Furniture (used to be MFI) you would have had the football ground on your right and the Greyhound Stadium to your left (hence why it is called The Greyhound Retail Park)

Would love to hear the from the older fans about what it was like .? Just the thought of answering that question sends tingles down my spine. I'd give absolutely anything to experience it again. The old girl was run down but she was magnificent. I'd mostly go in the Sealand Road end, but went in all three home ends in my time. The away end was a huge open bank with occasional crush barriers strewn around and as much grass as concrete on the terrace. The right side of Sealand Road was a well contained standing terrace. I still remember the Busby commercial on the fascia of the roof which was a fuck off yellow bird that BT had as its mascot. The Tanoy was loud, I remember songs like Russ Abbotts "What an Atmosphere" belting out on a cold Tuesday night. The view to the left was of the massive fully seated stand, with faded pale blue seats, and a big drop and an open area between this stand and the pitch. The Sealand Road end was where all the atmosphere was generated, and that barrel of a roof trapped the sound and amplified it massively. Made a few hundred of us sound like thousands. The atmosphere was incredible at times. God I miss it.

Your right about the atmosphere, crowd noise was defining in the sealand rd end for the big games ,not sure it was the barrel roof or just the amount of people in there, and the paddock by the kop was just as loud before it was made the away end happy days that are long gone unfortunately

This is the bend of the Greyhound Stadium which to my mind would be sort of where Argos and Dunelm Mill now is but I stand to be corrected. You can see the main stand and floodlight at Sealand Road in the background. This was the bar/clubhouse at Chester dogs which gives you and idea what it was like. I remember going with my Dad and Grandad as a young teen and thinking it was a bit grim. And I was used to standing on the Sealand Road End...

If my memory serves me right even if you weren't into the greyhound racing you could get a half decent burger and chips and a beer at the Greyhound track.
For my sins I worked at Drayton Motors (Volvo) next to the stadium late 80's, many a good lunch in the Cestrian Club.
