I've never heard any player say anything good about Jim Gannon, they all slag him off, fall out with him or say how horrible he was.

Good listen that.
Interesting to hear a little of what goes on behind the scenes.
Footballers are actually just normal people. Who knew?!

Poor Gary having to travel just over an hour to training. Comes across as a bit of a tit to be honest.

Poor Gary having to travel just over an hour to training. Comes across as a bit of a tit to be honest. Thought he was good for us put in a good shift. Lowered my opinion of him that interview. Him coming across as a bit of a tosser shouldn’t be much of a surprise to anyone who’s followed him on Twitter, and has seen all the racist posts and far-right conspiracy theories that he spends his time liking and retweeting. Shame, really, because I too really liked him when he played for us. I can’t say I’m a big fan of these football podcasts in general, though, in all honesty. I enjoyed the one Gary Roberts did a few years ago, which gave some genuine insights into the rather unbelievable career he’s had; but in most cases it just feels like listening to a group of blokes down the Wetherspoons, reeling off a bunch of sweary anecdotes about going on the piss with the lads - the most egregious example I can think of is the one Paul Linwood did, when he spoke about his experiences in the Grimsby side that got relegated from the Football League and joked about how most of the team were more interested in drinking than performing on the pitch (which was unsurprisingly met with backlash on Humberside). I also can’t help but cast my mind back to when the wheels fell off for Bern and Jonno here, and how there was a lot of discussion about whether the dressing room was too much of a ‘lads’ club’ in which the players perhaps struggled to take responsibility, and think the fact that most of their signings seem to have appeared on these podcasts surely gives some degree of credence to that view.

Really liked him as a player, a proper centre mid that did all the dirty work. Does come across as a bit of a tit on the podcast though - I know we're at step 6 but the attitude seemed a bit amateurish to me. Sure he's a good laugh in the dressing room etc, but there comes a point in life where you need to grow up a bit rather than acting like an 18 year old jack the lad.
