IF we were to gain promotion at the end of this season how would 24/25 be funded with presumably higher contracts?
How many of our current squad would realistically be up for the challenge, not just playing better teams, probably training an extra day and a fair bit more travelling with a lot more overnight stays?
What extra funding (if any) is received from The National League . . . I appreciate we would have more season ticket holders along with greater numbers of away supporters thus producing extra cash.

Don't see where we'd get an extra influx of cash from to be honest. Crowds would probably be good to start with, and there's the benefit of a few more teams that might bring a better away following than your standard NLN fixture, but the extra travelling costs would eat into whatever small profits might be made there. Couple that with the fact players will expect a better wage at that level, and I imagine it will be difficult enough to break even. If we're struggling after Xmas then could see the crowds dipping back to 1800 for the games against Boreham Wood etc. Need a really profitable Boost the Budget, a push on sponsorship, and likely a player sale......I've a feeling that Burke could be sought after in the summer and with him on contract until the end of next season then surely we could expect somewhere between 100k - 150k. In the ideal world you'd keep your best young player but I'm sure Cal is realistic enough to know that the fan owned model relies on developing talent and moving them on at the right time, and on the back of a potential promotion with 1 year left on his contract then this summer is the time to cash in, and strengthen the overall squad with the profits.

Thats exactly what I wanted to say in my OP but thought I’d start off a genuinely serious post in a ‘quieter’ manner.

If we go up this year, I honestly feel like we would do better than most people would predict.
At present we have a solid GK and Defenders along with Midfielders that all chip in with goals. Just need more consistent goals from the strikers. We have been unlucky this season due to injuries with the goals scored in comparison to last.
At least half of the teams in our league when they come to us or we go away are teams that sit in, defend with all players behind the ball. So make it difficult to break down.
The teams in the NL are all better and feel like they wouldn't be as defensive as teams in the NLN.
If we are promoted this year then I feel like we could hold our own based upon performances against teams like Oldham, Hartlepool, York. The crowds should naturally increase too with better away followings and bigger teams.
If we look at Gateshead, Altrincham, Halifax, Aldershot as teams who are up at the right end of the table then anything can be achieved if we all pull in the same direction.

I too feel that we would hold our own (12th - 18th) and comparing ourselves to the like of Aldershot, Halifax, Altrincham, Hartlepool and Rochdale I think this is feasible. The big worry is how would we finance the basics of next season!!!

Is there really that much difference in the travelling in this league to the National League? Obviously there is more travelling but not as much as people are saying.
Gloucester, KLT, Peterborough, Scarborough, South Shields, Boston, Brackley, Banbury, Blyth, Spennymoor, Darlington all 3 hour treks give or take.

There’s more London games for example but even the furthest games in that league are easier journeys than the likes of KL.

Kidderminster, although in the final relegation place in NL, are one win off mid table. Incredibly tight at the bottom. Just shows what can be achieved.

Budget would increase due to more fans, maybe we charge slightly more on the day prices etc to accumulate more funds. Especially with the additional away fans some teams would bring. Also more exposure for sponsors as higher probability to be on tv etc plus playing national football is better than regional football for exposure. Probably have much better loan players available as we will be playing in a much more competitive league. Plenty of clubs operate on a decent budget in league above no problem. Can use the FA Cup for greater funds, we would come in at the 4qr rather than 2qr so more likely to make the 1st round proper and hopefully get a decent tie to get prize money. Just so many more positives to being in the league above and with Cal in charge I believe we’d compete for a mid table position and hopefully a run in the trophy too for the Wembley dream
