Surprised this hasn’t been brought up more.
Why with such an impressive home record last season narrow the pitch?!
Has it ever been narrowed since Chester moved there? So why choose to do it this season?
Such a negative thing to do - It’s easier for teams to sit in and make it difficult to break them down
When chasing a game you want to make the pitch as big as possible play more expansive football but since Jose has decided to narrow it all the opposition have to do now is get 1 goal to win a game which has happened on multiple occasions now.
Jose has got plenty wrong this season and this is one of the main things he has got wrong which hasn’t been highlighted as much as it should - Has he been questioned on why he did it?

Surprised you know exactly how much the issue has been brought up in the one day that you've been registered on Devachat. Unless, of course, you're yet another regular with multiple accounts, depending on which way the wind's blowing/results are going.
I reckon with that moniker, you're the one to put it to 'Jose' and get to the bottom of it.

We have a better home record this season than we did last season. Last season 36 points, this season currently 38 points....

But we didn't have an impressive home record last season. The home record was what let us down. Earlier on in the season it seemed like we were getting somewhere with the home form but since new year it's been poor.
We had one of the biggest pitches in English football. One argument is that it helps you play expansive football. Another is playing on a pitch of that size 23 times a season means we're doing more running about than anyone else.
Also, I think it was shortened rather than narrowed? Goals moved closer together.

Two pointlessly negative threads appearing today, both from anonymous accounts who only registered yesterday? Probably the same person on both.
Your own team are third in League Two ffs. Surely you’ve got something better to do with your time.

Narrower pitch, easier to make shorter passes as you're not as far spread out

Does anyone actually believe that taking about 6 feet off the width (which Bern and Jonno did), or about 12 feet off the length is the reason we can't score goals?
Most of the away pitches are far narrower and shorter than ours is now. Haven't been too bad away from home last couple of seasons, have we?

I wasn't a fan of narrowing the pitch at the start of the season but I can understand the reasoning for doing so. I'm personally a fan of playing with pace and width myself and a target man to hit but Callum obviously is not so that's the reason. Trying to control the centre of the pitch and ball retention.

Womens team playing at the deva this season is probably one of the reasons it was shorterned / narrowed

I'm not sure what impact it would have on our playing style, but would defer to the wisdom of those that made the decision as there is obviously a thought process behind it.
What I would say though, is that standing in the Harry Mac the goal does feel noticeably further away! I preferred feeling right on top of the action.

Thought Cal said at the start of the season ours was one of the biggest pitches in the league. Realistically how much shorter etc is the pitch and does it really make a difference, I think not. We are not talking yards narrower or shorter.

If you had been paying attention, you would have noticed that the pitch was narrowed before last season, not this. It was only shortened for this season.
