Anyone else noticed that when Stanway wears his purple kit (as he did at Buxton) both socks have holes in the back of them - innovative calf cooling device, superstition or do I need to give him a £10 to buy a new pair???!!!!

The premiershite ballerinas do it so it's probably something to do with that don’t know why but there you go

Something to do with blood circulation but it seems this has only been a recent trend.

They all cut the feet off and wear other socks as well don’t they? Never understood that either.

They all cut the feet off and wear other socks as well don’t they? Never understood that either. You can wear a thinner sock underneath and therefore a smaller boot so you can get a feel for the ball. Some players will have a boot that is smaller than their shoe size. Unless you're Paul Gascoigne v Scotland in 1996

If it didn't make a difference, they wouldn't do it.

Wyll Stanway exhibits a performance akin to that of a Premier League footballer. Hence, I propose granting him the attire befitting such a status!
