Lynch - been great, equal to Roberts which is no small feat. Astles - the giant. Hughes - the young gun. Vassell - the speed king of the defensive line. Hunt - had a surprising turn in defence this season. Shaw and lloyd - cant break a winning central midfield. Alabi and Akitunde - for me a preferred strike pairing who could be devastate this leagues defence.

Everyone bar Chappell, i think there's batter value. Joyce is a squad player and I'm not even sure Marsh is on a contract.
I've been critical of George but he can play various positions and it's a case of better you know.
Big test for MCcarthy in terms of recruitment. Likely replacing Alabi which is going to be key for next season.

Signing Lloydy permanently should be McCarthys first job at the end of the season. Although I think he'll have offers from League 2 sides.

Release: Joyce - Can get better from the lower leagues Chappell - Done nothing for two seasons - absolute must! Marsh - Not seen enough of this lad, which begs the question why not?! Richards - Perhaps Controversial, Don't like his attitude to the game, Largely Ineffective.
Hang on to the Rest. Though I would release George if we found a suitable replacement and Killock if it appears that he's just going to turn out to be one of those permanently injured players.

I'd be very cautious about keeping George. Given that he was signed as our captain, I'm going to assume he's one of our higher paid players - I'm not sure he represents value for money.

We have a huge problem in that if any of our players do well then they're straight away touted for bigger things.
To ultimately win promotion, which I think is possible even with our small budget then we need a squad of players that are prepared to stay here for at least 2/3 seasons and build something great.
We can be ambitious without breaking the bank and that's with positivity from the start of next season. I want to hear the manager come out and say he's got a squad of players capable of finishing in the top 5 and that, that is our goal. If the squad thinks that avoiding relegation is the only target then that's all we'll ever achieve. We have some good players who are more than capable of playing at a higher level so give them the confidence and the aspiration to do it with CFC.

Chappell, George, Horwood and Killock (if he doesn't kick a ball in anger this season).
Horwood looks finished to me. Which is a massive shame, if he was fit and focussed then he'd be a cracking left back. Would have liked to have seen Johnny Hunt in a more forward role at times this season to see what he can bring with his delivery from the left, but not had any other options at left back have we.

Alabi, Mahon, Lloyd, Shaw, Durrell, Hunt, Hudson, Astles, Lynch, Waters
The rest would depend on how they perform for the rest of the season and what else we could get for the money. I think Macca will offer contracts to 80% of the current squad.

Think its going to be hard to retain the likes of Alabi/Lloyd/Hughes but hopefully the rest of the decent players can stay and develop with us. Chappell has had enough chances for me now and the odd flashes of quality just aren't enough over the season. And George has had his fair share of chances now, and I'd fancy Macca's chances of finding an improvement on him. I still think there's a good player in Kane Richards and he does show this at times, but its all about man management and unfortunately he's been playing like he knows he's in the starting 11 regardless in recent weeks. He needs that competition to bring the best out of him.

I know we will probably lose a few as previously mentioned but it wouldn't bother me unduly if we kept the rest as long as a couple of them had a really serious talking to about commitment and attitude.

We didn't offer Vassell a deal, got rid of hudson, hunt, durrell and didnt offer lloyd. We lost Alabi and hughes as expected and undertsanbly after 4 more months of nothing binned richards. We also binned SVJ II and Killock All this whilst keeping the likes of Chappell, Joyce and davies who people said ship out. odd post from you this.

Lynch and Astles unarguable as top performers last year but on top of that it's only Shaw and Mahon who people agreed with. The others people were saying put in the bin so i don't get what you are trying to say?
