Amazingly our only win this season has come with no available recognised striker, so we know he's talking rubbish.

He contradicts himself time and time again. One week he spouts about how we have almost premier league quality staff behind the scenes, next week we don't have anyone adequate. Which one is it Jon?

Bottom 4 already. We need a change quickly to give somebody a chance to rescue our season. But equally we have a game in hand that if we win (yes I know, but if we do) would put us at mid-table and above big money Tranmere... And two points off the playoffs. We have got to get a grip and really take the fight to Solihull. Sod this over defensive stuff which isn't actually good defending anyway.

It's a great point you make and I think it will be the one that the board hang onto over the coming week. The woodwork at Hartlepool and Aldershot, as well as the referee today, have gifted JM points that the performances certainly haven't warranted. It surely can't go on that game after game he gets out of jail with nothing more than good fortune. By this time next week we will have played 9 games and will be on an equal number as everyone else. By that point we will surely know what the way forward is - one way or another. Yes we were lucky with the woodwork at Hartlepool and Aldershot but it was the opposite at Torquay. Their goal went in off the woodwork, we hit it twice and possibly shaved it once with the sidefooted cut back. To say the referee gifted it to us is ridiculous. These sort of comments must be coming from people who were not at the game. McCombe was kicked in the face and had his nose broken. How is that a gift FFS? You have more than enough ammunition against McCarthy without making stuff up.

Controversial is perhaps the best way to describe that decision. Obviously a point at Torquay and a performance not quite as pathetic as many others this season keeps some people easily pleased.

Controversial is perhaps the best way to describe that decision. Obviously a point at Torquay keeps people easily pleased. Not easily pleased at all, we weren't good enough and we should have won. The controversy was because the referee awarded the goal first. It was only when McCombe had obviously had his face smashed that he then consulted the linesman. Fair play to the ref for having the balls to realise he shouldn't have given the goal. Absolutely it was a foul on McCombe. Even if contact hadn't been made, the whistle should have gone for dangerous play. As it was, you can't really argue that he wasn't kicked in the face. You should have seen the state of him.

Agree with SB - you don't need to make shit up here. The performances are overly defensive and I genuinely don't think mccarthy knows any other way of playing other than solid underdog

Just listened to Jon McCarthy and his aftermatch interview today. Annoyed beyond word at the excuses. For anyone not listened, the excuses were Injuries - Turnbull and White our only missing players. Torquay had 7 missing. And had 1 point... Budget - the CFC Financial Director told the CFU meeting we were 'mid-table' in budgets. JMc reckons 'amongst the smallest'. All Sam Hughes money spent. Biggest budget since reformation. No Training Facilities - Seahill, Saughall is the nicest grass facility in the town. The club (Saughall Colts JFC) have just had to spend ÂŁ4500 on a chafer bug infection. Chester have yet to offer a penny. The facility has been available all week, JMc chose not to train. Lack of medical back up - Kathryn Hopwood and Luke must be fairly put out by that?? JMc was waxing lyrical about the support from the Uni also at the CFU meeting. Maybe if he never had 2 assistant managers he could afford more medical staff. If I was a board member I would be absolutely fuming at this interview. This is a difficult situation for them, and the manager blathering on about last years results and moaning about what the club provide will not help them. We need firm action now, as unfortunately the improvement expected when we have some players back playing at the bottom club clearly didnt happen. Bottom 4 already. We need a change quickly to give somebody a chance to rescue our season. In any other industry he would be sacked for gross misconduct, you cannot speak about your employees in that way.

Another problem we have is that we have to many apologists who may not be board members but they certainly have their ear who come on social media and defend the un-defensible, we all know who they are.

It's called free speech? You are obviously one of them If 'one of those' is someone who happens to be a co-owner of a football club who has interacted with boardmembers then yep, guilty as charged. However if you mean boardmembers of CFC then you are wrong. I'm just someone who happens to believe in people's right, including you, to say what they believe.

Only a matter of time until we start losing defenders to injury or suspension and the lack of defensive cover there is a joke.
JM goes on about smallest squad and smallest budget etc but other managers seem to manage just fine.
What's are the back up loan signings we desperately need?

What did he mean when saying: "...to have the situation with Macclesfield the other week, when we had to travel back on the Saturday"?

We played away at aldershot, they (macc) were at home on the Saturday respectively, but given we had just beaten the team top of the league, you would have thought it would have been an enjoyable coach journey home.

The squad were in total fitness this morning, I noticed astles only last a few minutes on an excersise bike with a bandaged up leg and went off to get changed. The rest of the squad carried on the session. We will struggle without him, hopefully it was just precaution.

I saw them in TF 2 weeks ago and they were all sat in the Café with the manager and a board member. The manager was showing off his toy, which looked like a chess board with plastic players on it. I am not making this up.
