Jon Mc isn't going anywhere. Win, lose or draw. The club can't afford to pay him off, can't afford to bring someone new in. The best solution would be for McCarthy to resign without any or very little severance pay. He has no remorse though and will keep plodding along, saying and doing whatever he wants. He knows deep down that he won't get another managerial position with the cash he's on. How do you know the club can't afford to pay him off? Do you not think the Board would plan for such an event occurring? If not then the Board should be sacked for incompetence. And win at Solihull will only prolong the agony. One match should not decide the fate of this hopeless manager but the whole appalling record since last December at home. He should already have been sacked on that record alone last year.

I want us to win at Solihull, then Ebbsfleet and move up the table and be competitive. If this happens under McCarthy then great. Realistically I can't see it happening and he can't survive the next two games if even one of them is a defeat in my view.
The only reason I want the club to replace McCarthy as manager is to improve our chances of winning. I have nothing against McCarthy other than the results. He is reacting like a man under great pressure because he is; he and the board know the situation has come to a head and that a decision is inevitable unles results improve with wins in the next two games.
He is not the deluded one and I take no pleasure in the way he has been attacked by some fans. He hasn't been up to the job in the long run and he isn't alone in that fact either. Don't have any preconceived ideas of who should replace him either. Let's see who applies and test their mettle at interview. None of us would have selected Sharps as an answer, but many believe he was the reason for last season's good run. Who knows who's out there.

" were skint" not half as skint as we will be back in regional football with sub 1000 crowds. He should be gone already and if we fail to beat Ebbsfleet saturday and he is still manager monday lunch time an EGM and a vote of no confidence in the board is a necessity. Given that scenario proves successful, what would be (in rough terms) your manifesto as a potential candidate for election to the board? Manifesto's are for individual candidates, but two words stand out, competance and ambition. I would hope that the situation would not be allowed to deteriate further as there are many positives in other areas, commercial, youth, community, the new web site etc. However,in the most important area, football, the manager has lost the majority of the fanbase, crowds are falling, and without change very soon the disaster that is relegation will be staring us in the face. If the board allow that then they are not fit to run the club, how anyone can defend the status quo beggars belief.

That is the problem with your proposed motion of no confidence. I raised the option of an EGM with the club at the end of last season, but new contracts were signed that weekend, which overtook events. Not much point removing the Manager a day after he's appointed his assistant and coaching staff and some players. Judging by JMc's interviews recently he knows he's under pressure, and blaming everyone but himself. As NWAS said elsewhere, I would be fuming as a Board Member if I heard those excuses. Both NWAS and Banksy, previous Board members, have come out and said he should go now. L et's face it, lose at Solihull and go behind playing badly at home to Ebbsfleet and the who!e crowd will voice it's opinion. Difficult to see how he'd survive that. It s a pity because he is an ideal fit for the cIub, with the obvious limitation of not being a good manager. I believe the Board are hoping results and performance will improve as are we all, and trying to get to the AGM on 5th October. Leaving the new board structure to take us forward.

Wonder if anybody is standing on a "McCarthy Out" ticket. That's what the fans want, after all.
