Here's something that's been bothering me for a while, and further realised it after watching the Torquay highlights. Jon McCarthy has been incredibly lucky with a significant amount of points that we've picked up in 2017.
Torquay game, they should've been out of sight. Second time this season that a goal has been scored against us and been given and then disallowed (chances of that happening twice in half a dozen games must be minuscule) but AFC Fylde we were lucky to get a point I felt, Aldershot could've been 4-0 at half time, Sutton could've been 5-1 at half time, Macclesfield we were lucky to lose by only 2-0.
Lady Luck has been shining on Macca and it shows how ludicrously shit we've been in 2017 that he's picked up the meagre tally we have. It's time to go Jon. No more containing, nullifying awful football and terrible results.

Great post and a point I made on Saturday. We can't expect to get lucky for the next 39 games. There has to come a point when we stop relying on the woodwork and referee to bale us out.

My views on JM are that he shouldn't be our manager. However, i am a believer in what goes around comes around. We've had luck in a couple of games with sides hitting the woodwork as pointed out, so then can we class ourselves as unlucky for not winning against Torquay because we hit the woodwork twice? At the end of the day it's not a game of who gets the most chances, or who hit's the post the most, it's who puts the ball in the back of the net. So while i agree JM is out of his depth, i do think this talk of him being lucky is a bit farfetched. The only reason you should be calling him lucky is because he's still under our employment.

I said last season even during our unbeaten run we had a fair slice of luck, I remember macc away , the stats show 0-0 and a decent away point given their league position at the time, but they also hit the post 4 times that night.

We’ve not picked up many points at all this calendar year but the genuine good entertaining performances are even further few and far between, I can’t think of many, Dover and Dagenham probably and that’s it. Even our five wins on the road have been fortunate really, I’d say we only just about deserved one of them and that one was the furthest back and it’s all gone downhill from there. If luck has been deserting him at the Deva it certainly hasn't been away from home.
Braintree: They were better than us first half and then we were better than them in the second half. Could have been a draw but thought our second half saw us shade it.
Southport: Fluke goal from Horwood on the wing, took a Sam Hughes masterclass to keep them out.
Bromley: Turgid game between two poor sides on a terrible pitch, draw written all over it until a cracker from Durrell in the last minute.
Torquay: Had a man advantage for an hour and still only probably just about deserved a draw. Indebted to Hughes again.
Aldershot: They could have been out of sight at half time, didn’t take their chances and we were gutsy in the second half. Lucky.
Worryingly, bar Aldershot none of those sides were very good and two of them were relegated. I’ve only missed Lincoln away this calendar year and I’m convinced we’re just getting worse, there’s absolutely no sign of improvement in my opinion. Had my head in my hands listening to Maguire say last week that we were within touching distance of something ‘very very special.’ We really aren’t Mark, not with Jon in charge.

Hartlepool hit the woodwork thrice in the first half as did Aldershot. Having watched the Shots match, absolutely we were lucky.
I have to disagree about the luck at Torquay. The seagulls goal went in off the post. McCombe hit the inside of the post but it didn't go in, we had one which hit the bar too, another shaved it, and their chalked off goal was absolutely the correct decision.
