after listening to what turned out to be JM last interview i wondered WHY we have the smallest squad and budget in the league. whilst not expecting all the reported £130000 for sam hughes in one hit we must have had a decent downpayment money which is in excess of normal sponsers money etc and therefore a windfall so why do we always appear to be so poor when it comes to budget? macclesfield lost half their team end of last season but are still holding their own perhaps thats down to having a decent manager who knows the league and has good contacts which we need. as was previously mentioned why give matty waters a 2 year contract then bring in someone of about the same age to cover injury? MW lack of experience was quoted but how does he get that experince if he is not played.same happened with sam hughes but at some stage you have to give these youngsters a try. I HOPE THE BOARD HAVE LEARNT FROM PREVIOUS MISTAKES GIVING MANAGERS LONG CONTRACTS WHICH AFFECTS THE SIZE OF OUR BUDGET AFTER PAY OFFS

It was just one of a dozen excuses that he made in the last few weeks. I'm sure our budget is bigger than Solihull Moors!
The new manager will have to wheel and deal. He can get rid of Joyce, Chappel and Davies for a start to free up some income. I have no idea who will sign those three though. Anyone got Stalybridge's number??

I agree getting rid of those three and bringing, in one half decent player would be a start.

How do you propose getting rid of contracted players, paying them off? With what? The problem we now have is attracting someone of the right calibre to work with our existing squad for better or worse, plus possibly a couple of loanees.

Let's face it, the manager has been spouting off bollocks for months. The summer recruitment was half decent but we have probably paid top dollar for a few of them. Some players are travelling across country to play and train here whilst some have relocated. They will not be doing those things on the cheap. The budget is certainly better than this week's results and the manager knows this. Ultimately, our results and his total disregard for the board and supporters of the club has cost him his job. Nice pay off coming his way though!
