£40,000 spent to terminate our last to managers contracts? We need to be spending this money at the grass roots level of football in Chester and our surrounding area. The money that we got this summer has gone. On what I ask?

You make it sound like we are the only football club this has happened to, how many managers have been hired by football clubs as the next best thing only to be sacked and compensation paid. Too many to list let's get real here. |

I think we need to look at what we want chester football club to stand for. For me it looks like we are trying to build from the top down?

To get a decent manager we need to pay them as competitive a wage as we can afford - we just need to not get overexcited when Tom Shaw gets a win and draw in his first two games and give him a four year contract. The time remaining on the contract is what's cost us, otherwise I don't have a problem with spending the money on a successful manager as opposed to other things.

The money that we got this summer has gone. On what I ask? I'd imagine Mr & Mrs McCarthy will be going on a nice cruise. Probably a nice new motor for Jon Junior. And maybe a new subbuteo team or two. I believe Jon has been trying to get Norwich 84 recently. |
