The post on our site advertising the manager's job has been picked up by the BBC. Quite a common practice I'd guess for any job... Chester: National League side advertise for a new manager on club website - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41191405

Again, I don't really get the reaction. It's sad that this isn't considered normal. Although, as I've said elsewhere, we should scrap this and headhunt Bignot.

Slow football news day now the transfer window's over I'm guessing. I think it's the right way to advertise a job, although it probably does mean Maguire is going to have to sift through a fair few time wasters.

Very good idea IMO, retweeted by BBCMOTD to their 2.5 million followers. It certainly puts our name out there which is great. Ultimately though, stop wasting time and get Bignott in, he could have a at least a week with the squad before the Maidstone game that we are hoping to appoint someone by. #BignottsBlues

Call me old fashioned as I'm not up to speed with all this social media stuff, I personally think it's making a mockery of our club. We are in a serious position where we need a manager who has experience at this level, not every man and his dog handing in a CV because they are good at football manager. I'm sure the board will make the correct decision this time ?!

I'm sure the board will make the correct decision this time ?! Pretty much all jobs these days are advertised on the internet. We're not inviting people to apply via Twitter or anything, we're just advertising the job on our site and it's fed through to the club's Twitter page. Yes, there will be some frivolous applications, but they should be easy to spot and discard. I still think it's the right thing to do, if only because it makes it clear that it's all an open process and shows us what criteria are being looked for in the new manager.

Maidenhead, not Maidstone. Apologies, always getting tho two buggers mixed up! They're the Slovakia/Slovenia of the National League. Still can't remember which of those two is currently runner-up in England's qualifying group, and the only way I can distinguish between the two is Martin Skrtel.

Slovakia are the decent one, Skrtel, Hamsik. Slovenia are League 1 standard for the most part I'd say.

Call me old fashioned as I'm not up to speed with all this social media stuff, I personally think it's making a mockery of our club. The club have basically said the PR is the point of the tweet if you read what they have tweeted. What is the PR benefit of 'getting the name out there'? "Chester need manager. They are oh-so-banterous ho ho ho?" We should have a shortlist and it be known in football circles. Who gives a shit if Matthew Griffiths and co have another load of shite to be tweeting about like laaaaaaaads.

I know you said for the most part, but it Jan Oblak played if league 1 he'd guarantee you clean sheets ha ha!

Really don't see what all the fuss is about tbh, we advertise any other job at the club the same way, so why should the Manager be any different.

Looking through twitter people are just taking the piss Disappointing that considering he's clearly spent a lot of his valuable time on it, there's no pub team (that they consistently fail to beat) jibe.
