Enjoying the new forum but worried the demise of Deva Chat 1 could result in the loss of a classic....so here goes.....

Although the time and circumstances are right for the move, I think it would actually be a great shame if the old forum was to disappear completely. If nothing else, it's a great resource and archive of how the fans reacted to everything that's gone on at the club, and goes back 10-12 years.
I quite often find myself remembering a match or event from the past and using the 'search' function to check what people were saying about it at the time. Anyone else do this, or am I the only saddo?

The ideal solution would be for the owner(s) of the old board to pass control of everything over to the runners of this board so everything could be kept in one place. Although I guess that the old DC wasn't a free board and had it's running costs (ergo the donate button) so that is obviously an issue.

I think the server is holding a lot of data going back years and that will cost. It's certainly not a free board which is why it's a bit smoother / slicker than this one. Does anyone know how much server space you get with freeforums? Will it become an issue?

Talking of Old DC gold, there was a forum on there called Beat the Bookie, and as Moderating is hot in the news these days, some of you may have missed this first time around, from post 70-85 is a row between Mancot Blue and Ronseal, which is quite honestly hilarious. Enjoy www.devachat.com/index.php?showtopic=57695&hl=apples&st=75

So the link above won't work for everyone.

Could you use your powers to remove the restriction on the particular sub-forum for guests to view or is that something an absent admin has to do?

Just a random match popping up or a news story you think of and Deva Chat was the go-to place to see what fellow Blues were saying about it at the time.
