Yesterday for the first time in months I saw a Chester Team going for the throat and actually taking the game to the opposition and in the end we were very unlucky not to win the game - So what we're the positives ? well our preferred keeper was back between the sticks and strangely without the big man we looked better organised at the back with Halls having his best game as a Center half him and Mccombe looked really solid probably because of there understanding playing last season with Macclesfield - The young lad Sheron started nervously but grew into the game and second half did very well getting fonward a lot- LRT had a solid game - Midfield especially second half were combative and especially so when Mahon one Dawson came on - Dawson is a cracking player and should certainly start ahead of Joyce. I'm a tad worried about Hannah as he seems to be playing as a left back rather than pressing and when Mahon replaced him we looked sharper -Bell had a good game and he is a strong player better than Alabi in my opinion - but the jewell in our crown is Akintunde - keep the lad fit and healthy will be our talisman - A special mention tof Tom Shaw who had the balls to go 3 up top and provide entertainment sadly lacking under Mccarthy - so I have hope the correct Manager could achieve something with this squad as they do have ability.

Under McCarthy we've been alright away from home most of the time.
He lost the plot with home matches. He seemed to be terrified of losing at home, and reacted strangely, setting the team up in an ultra-defensive and negative way that all but guaranteed strings of poor results. So sad. All of us would have rather gone down fighting in games at home rather than meekly submitting to sometimes very poor and ordinary opposition.
Yesterday was a massive improvement, and the kind of performance we need to see at home.
