Apparently is going to apply for the job , I know a lot of fans really don't want him to get it but he does tick a few boxes . Very experienced , Likes to play a passing game , will have good contacts in the game and fans of his ex clubs seem to speak very highly of him so will it be such a bad appointment if he does get it ?

Has a history of belittling Chester, too arrogant to apply last time if the club didn't go cap in hand to him, other than that may be past his best in terms of commitment to anybody but himself. So that's a very strong no from me.

Clearly a man looking for a payday, I'd be extremely disappointed/gutted if he got the job. I'd rather Shaun Reid got it over Moore.
Marcus Bignots blue and white army!

As per the previous contributor's comments it's a no from me. No doubt that the guy is experienced, and would I believe turn our fortunes around. Having said that, we should be looking for a long term solution and not a short term fix.

Struggled at Eastleigh with loads of dollar, moaning about wanting a twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth striker on the books... also he does tend to look down his nose at "clubs like Chester". He certainly won't bother with our founding ethos. Steer well clear.

I think of all the candidates linked with the job he'd be at the very bottom of my list, possibly even below this Higgins clown. At least with Higgins I wouldn't know what to expect. With Moore I'd know exactly what to expect - loads of whinging. He'd be in the boardroom every two seconds wanting the budget increased and if the board didn't stand up to him the club would be crippled. He's an old moaner and not what we need.

Its really important that this next appointment is the sort of character to relish a challenge and just get on with it. After Burr and McCarthy we've all had a bellyful of hearing excuses in the press about the budget etc. Most fans understand the limitations the club is under, but we do not have the lowest budget in the league and we have a decent stadium with a proud history and passionate fanbase, all of which makes us a reasonably attractive proposition. I want someone to come in and just get on with it, no excuses. Its about being accountable for your own performance, if its not working then admit your failings and work harder to improve rather than hiding behind excuses and whining.

No chance. He's done, and he won't see us as a long-term thing. If he was to do well with us in any way he'd be off to the first club offering a better wage.
Barrow or Bignot for me.

I was there when McCarthy outsmarted him with our 0-3 victory at Eastleigh, then Moore was very sour with his post match comments.
Says enough for me.

He may now be one of the favourites after today . we cant take chances. I don't get why appointing Moore would be seen as not taking a risk. He's an aging manager and he has very little experience of managing at this level, apart from with Southport nearly 20 years ago and last year's brief and unsuccessful stint at financially backed Eastleigh. This is before we consider that he's been in trouble for betting in recent years and that he's had a history of disrespecting our club. Bignot, despite being younger and more inexperienced, actually has more pedigree in the non-league and Conference game I would say, having started last season well with Solihull.

What experience has Ronnie Moore got of turning things around on a tight budget? He's the type of manager that always needs another player and quite clearly thinks we are a little club anyway. It would just be another payday for him.

It would just be another payday for him. Having looked at his record since 2009, other than saving Hartlepool from relegation from League 2 (at tranmere's expense) there is very little to suggest that he would be anything other than a poor appointment given our current predicament. It is very doubtful he possesses the skill set necessary to operate at a supporter owned club, and I suspect he would not understand the principle of sticking to a budget. And that is before his recent and previous remarks about the Club are taken into account. Whilst a "name", he is not the right appointment, and in my view he should concentrate on retirement........until the tranny job is advertised of course!
