If Chesterfield get beat on Tuesday Caldwell will surely get the chop (1 win in 7 and sinking fast towards non league). Traditionally Barrow has been a man of principle and would probably follow him out of the door. I personally would give him our job until the end of the season. I think it's just what the club needs at this point. With his legendary status he will hit the ground running and provide a healthy boost to attendances. More importantly I think it will give this talented but thin on the ground squad a kick up the arse which should see us safe this season. It's Barrow for me

Not my personal preferred candidate but if Graham was to get the job I wouldn't be displeased.

I'd love to see Graham back even if it's until end of season. Fond memories of him as Captain and Manager and I think he'd get the place rocking again

I certainly wouldn't be disappointed if he put his name forward for the job. not sure it's the longer term solution though. With that in mind I feel we should go for someone who's likely to be in it for the longer haul and can build things up over time. With or financial constraints surely this is the best hope of success in the longer run.

Simply put, Barrow Is a Chester legend and whatever capacity he provides to Chester FC can only be good for the club.
Id love to see him manage the club again, maybe with Shaw as his assitant

Why couldn't he be a long term option though? If he was given the time and found the right balance it doesn't need someone young with new coaching badges and ideas. Take Chris Kinnear at Dover and look how he has turned that club into a force. He did the same in the 90's and just seems to get it - this season completely rebuilt their squad and they aren't doing too bad

Point taken. I am old enough to remember all the good stuff connected with Barrow. I guess that would be something for the board to discuss with him. What his plans maybe in the shorter and longer term. There is a slight reservation regarding what he has achieved in recent times although granted he has perhaps had roles which were perhaps a hiding to nothing.

Appointing Graham Barrow would I'm sure lift gates by a few hundred immediately and any sort of upturn in form could see a more dramatic turnaround as there are plenty of supporters out there who remember the good times but just aren't motivated to leave their armchairs to watch the current offering.
A Barrow team winning a few games would stir the memories and suddenly we're on an upward curve again.

Obsessed with this guy.
It isn't happening.
Get over him.

I wonder if anyone under the age of 30 wants Graham Barrow?
He has no experience in the Conference in the past 15 years, and if it didn't work out it might damage his legendary status. He would no doubt do well with this squad, but long term it doesn't look like the right option for me personally.

I want Barrow, but admittedly not under 30! Nostalgia aside, his past connections to our club give us a unique opportunity to maybe secure the services of someone who has coached at the highest level and who might be able to get motivated by a mission to get us back into the football league, someone who might see it more than just a retirement plan and who could take a lower wage than he might get elsewhere to have the sense of belonging again that he had here and at Wigan, you only have to look at his CV to see that means a lot to him.
Don't really buy the 'conference experience' argument, how many managing in our division have won the conference? most have moved on or are Mark Wright! Barrow probably still has many contacts around the lower reaches of the football league in the north west and will know of players that would thrive with a step down or those from non league that are being looked at, rather take a chance with someone who has won promotion out of league two than someone who has managed in the conference for 15 years but never won it.

Graham Barrow has a better CV than anyone on the list and understands Chester more than anyone. He literally ticks all the boxes

Not Barrow for me, could jeopardise his legend status, similar to Ian Rush if he comes back and knackers it up.
