I suggested on another thread that we could look at the cost of improving the cooking facilities at the ground for the matchday punters, which made me think about what other ground improvements could be made either to help increase revenue, on the pitch performance or just the match day experience - what one thing would you like to do/change or add to the ground to help?
Also it would be nice if any of these ideas actually seem good the club would say hey the fans have these ideas, it would cost roughly x amount and we would like you to vote on which project we go for and try to implement for a next season/ a few seasons time. Ultimately if we have a goal like a specific ground improvement - it makes it easier to raise funds for such a project i.e. bucket collections etc The key is be specific and people will likely contribute especially if its something tangible that they can see.

A while back i did a simple suggestion to raise money for squadbuilder. On entry to the ground give every person a small envelope with 'Squadbuilder fund' printed on it. People just put any loose change they have in it, on arrival at the ground for the next match just hand it to the turnstile operator on your way in and collect a new envelope. It's only small change but over a season it would generate a hell of a lot of cash

To be honest, with the location being such a put-off, we shouldn't be investing anything in this stadium. If we're going to invest, get a new stadium.

A separate 'Social Club' on the grounds would be ideal.... Attract more match day boozers and also be a community benefit

Serve hot food in the Blues bar, or have a meal deal.

I've always had the vision of our main stand being extended so that the back of the stand is in line with the offices bar etc. If you can picture what I mean.

Also I would make the West Stand a bit larger so it's the same size of the main stand. I know that attendances won't improve, but it would make the stadium a bit more professional.

Yeah otherwise if just our main stand was upgraded we'd be like Crewe with their towering main stand.
However, do we have sufficient space behind the west stand? I don't go back there as I go Harry Mac/East stand for games but not sure there's an awful lot of space behind the stand.
Tbh I think the away end (south stand) should take priority after the mainstand, so we can acommodate bigger followings. Why was it converted to seating? I'm too young to know.

Their is a lot of space by the south stand, the car park isn't even used. But their is a big farmers field behind the West which would make it tricky, only if the club could purchase land.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but why spend money extending the ground when you cant fill what you have now, it would be like us building a new stand on the kop, we would never fill it unless the Welsh FA give us a international match.

The only thing our ground lacks (and has done for years) is a scoreboard. It's utterly pointless I know, but I've always quite liked the thought of having one. With many lower league clubs taking up the option of having one these days, surely it's not that expensive to get? Stick it in the corner of the South / West Stands and jobs a good one. It could be another revenue stream with adverts on the big screen, before the game and at HT. Plus birthday and good luck messages etc shown too for a small cost.

I think the most important improvement that needs to be made to the ground is a sheltered viewing platform for our disabled fans. If I remember correctly the club are making some effort to raise funds for this already but I could be wrong.

Two reasons. 1. if the capacity is 4100 as many have stated, that is not enough. They'll come a point we're selling out every game. (trust me on that!) 2. We need to be able to accommodate more away fans as 1100-1200 is not enough space for when a big team comes i.e. FA Cup ties.

The trouble is it all boils down to cash and that's something we will never have unless A.we allow external investment or B.We get a big pay day from a Cup game or sell on clause from a gem of a player- we have to be content with just holding our heads above water. Talk of building this expanding that are just nonsensical - If I won the Euro lottery I would look at investing but would want something back like a part share in the Club - no one wants to go back to Sugar Daddy total ownership however to move forward hybrid part ownership/fans owner model might need to be considered - selling sausage baps won't even pay for a toilet flush.

Why don't we make the main stand bigger and put In a hotel and Subway ?!?! If you can produce a very low resolution jpeg and get it in the programme to back this up I'll be convinced.

The ideas obviously aren't realistic ones. Just thoughts I've had. Stop taking the piss.

I hope they do make some shelters for the hardy fans.

I would keep the main stand and rebuild the old Sealand Road main stand behind it. We can nick the roof back from Port Vale the thieving C&^&ts. I always liked the main stand at the old girl but the void in front was a bit of a joke - so problem solved. Next I would install a state of the art rusty old barn roof above the Harry Mac. Following that, rip the seats out of the family stand, turn it into a terrace and fill it full of winging bastards who rarely sing - just like the old days. Finally, rip the roof and seats out of the away end - we molly coddle the visitors currently.

Unnecessary expenditure.
We have a clock and if you do forget the score, ask the person next to you!

Unnecessary expenditure. We have a clock and if you do forget the score, ask the person next to you! A big black board and chalk is not a great expense. Some people are just not forward thinking.

Badly missing a concourse so fans get together before the game, get a bar and a bookies in it, that will help.
We currently have fans coming in 2.55 and leaving 10 mins to go to avoid track as there is no entertainment in the ground or anything to draw anyone in.
