I was up at Gateshead last night and got speaking to someone who was representing Marcus Bignot, who watched us on Saturday as well.
He was saying Bignot really wants the opportunity to sit down with the board and spoke about how important this opportunity is, he feels he has a lot to prove after the Grimsby gig went sour, he's helping his mate out at Barreown only as he wants to be a manager in his own right again and he is building a lot of information ahead of the club notifying him if he has or hasn't been successful for an interview. He isn't the kind of manager that wants job after job which he proved at Solihull moors
Gets my vote

I would be really pleased if he is appointed before Saturday at a push.

I suspect that even if Bignot (or anyone else for that matter) was appointed before Saturday he wouldn't take charge of the side for the Dover game - seems to be the trend these days that a newly-appointed manager will often watch from the stand before properly taking charge for the next game.

Applications close today so even if they appointed him tomorrow he'd only have one day working with the players and Shaw will have already started setting them up how he wants them for Saturday, probably for the best he can start the week after.

Think blueboy81 is either close friend/family or agent of Marcus Big not. All his/her posts since joining after sacking of JM have been promoting MB. Or maybe MB doing a bit of self promotion. Be interesting to see if posts continue after appointment made.

I can definitely confirm we aren't related nor am I his agent, I work in Tesco and live at home with my wife and 2 kids 😀

We've got to get Bignot in asap. He's the leading candidate in my eyes and he certainly ticks the right boxes. Interview everyone by all means but when Bignot is in the office, hand him the contract there and then.

Bignot has signed for Barrow as a non contract player, so won't be our new manager.

What's the betting that Paul will be Marcus' first signing if he gets the job next week?
