Come home Graham. You've been away for far too long.

Are you for real? Let's appoint the ex manager of Birmingham City Ladies and Solihull Moors who is unemployed (for good reason) instead of an experienced manager, legend of the club who won the FA Cup as a coach and has managed at every level from the Championship to the Conference........ Using your logic we'd reappoint McCarthy if he applied! Bignot is the stand out favourite as voted by fans, so don't try and target me here as it's a majority who want Bignot I take it you don't have any evidence for this other than the poll posted on this forum? This forum is not representative of the whole fan base. Even if it was, the number of votes cast isn't a large enough sample size to draw a general trend.

That's quite a margin and enough to come to the conclusion. Plus, this is the most anti-Bignot and pro-Barrow forum I've seen.

Personally I would want Barrow over Holden. Looking at it Holden has purely been a coach since he packed in playing in 94. Granted he has been a coach at big clubs. Barrow has the edge for me in terms of management experience and being a number two

The simple fact is Barrow is the better, and more experienced candidate. Been successful in every division. Won the FA Cup. The man is above and beyond what this club would be content with. It would be a fantastic appointment.

Not at all but I cannot see how you can compare Marcus Bignit with Graham Barrow or Andy Holden, fact is for what he did at Birmingham how come Birmingham never offered him a first team position? When you take into account where Graham and Andy have held jobs in more successful premiership teams..,, it's the equivalent of Alex Ferguson and his predecessor ex people clubs man David Moyes

I think all fans have got a responsibility of making the appointment of the incoming manager a positive one regardless of who it is. Whoever comes in will be in place for the final game of the season so we have to create an atmosphere at home and follow the blues in big numbers away to give ourselves the best chance of staying up this year. I do maintain that it is an exciting short list of candidates. We are obviously an attractive club to manage.

Here here, I just don't want another young positive spin merchant who basically is clueless talks a good game but cant walk the walk. Stature, experience and have a hard line approach that gets results.

Still not sure about Bignot .He done ok with Solihull, but Neil Young worked wonders with Colwyn Bay with limited resourses, and then with us. But struggled to do it at Conference National level .He hasn't had a full season in this league yet so untested. I still think we need a Manager who is focused Soley on the first team, and free from the distractions of community work and the inner workings of the club. JM used to bang on about "people starting to get what we are trying to do at this club" and to me seemed he was more concerened about behind the scenes stuff than how the team were doing on the pitch. And I don't think he really believed we were a club capable of even getting near the playoffs and thought more of playing it safe and seen us as having a good season not being relegated. Would he have managed differently if he never had the added burden of the off the field stuff. We will never know unless we give the next Manager a chance

People need to get their head out of the clouds with regards to Barrow as manager. It's a lovely, romantic thought and all but we need someone with extensive knowledge of the league we are in and those below. Too many thinking with their hearts and not their heads. Marcus Bignots blue and white army!!! If you are a good manager you are a good manager. Would your argument preclude Wenger because he has no experience of our league? The only issue is Barrow may not want the job... I would approach Peter Jackson, but he may not want it because of health issues....has he been considered? Bignot doesn't inspire me. n

A one of fluke doesn't happen over FIVE years, and totally transforming a club with over 30 new men's women's kids teams and developing the club into a solid conference side is NOT a fluke. Bignot is the best candidate there is. Barrow would be good but what recent experience does he have of Conference football? Oh wait he's a club legend that gives us automatic promotion right?! Barrow has a better CV than Bignot. He would create momentum far quicker which is what we need to get clear of the bottom 8. I'll back whoever the board bring in but if Barrow is available we would be daft not pick him. He's not available. He's employed by Chesterfield and the board has said we're not headhunting. Barrow hasn't applied, Barrow isnt going to be our new manager, why can't people get their head round it? It's going to be Bignot.

As previously mentioned on here why is there a rather long thread when to the best of our knowledge he hasn't applied. Granted although I've said why I think Bignot should get the post. If he did apply it creates a big dilemma for the board as his experience requires serious deliberation.

I'm an older fan but don't get this sudden obsession to bring Barrow back to the Club. People are saying he's won the FA Cup and been in Prem and Championship of late, but this is as assistant manager. Brian Kidd and Steve McLaren were assistants to Fergie but didn't mean they were good managers. Also of late, Barrow been relegated few times with Wigan and not exactly pulling up trees with Chesterfield. I admire the man but wonder if people are judging him on the success he had in 90's with us rather than what he can do now. That said, if the board choose him then I'll back him.

In the medium term we need a manger who both nurtures our own youth players and has the scouting set up to get gems for free from the lower leagues (given our finances). In the immediate future of this season we need someone who can makes some sort of a team out of what we now have, but also crucially (and again for financial reasons) can use their contacts/charm/favours owed to pull in some class loan signings to see us safe. I would see Barrow as the absolute best prospect for this (particularly loans), even if he can only be persuaded to do this season before he retires.

Weird how the only place I've seen people want Holden is on Devachat. And not just once. People genuinely want the manger of Flint Town? He's not just the Manager of Flint Town United tho is he? he's been on the coaching staff at Everton for over 20 years under good Managers and he's been Assistant to a good young Manager at Hibernian (during his time there they won the Scottish Cup for the first time in over 100 years) and Rotherham. Plus he's a Chester Legend, so a bit more respect please young man.

Had a slight worry last week it was going to be that Frodsham lad think he was just a fool and wanted the attention
i really am not bothered who gets it but please not Ronnie Moore i cam imagine every game when we lose he'll be in boardroom giving the board an ultimation of more money or he will walk that's what happened in eastleigh according to my eastleigh mate
