The point, which you seem to miss, is that you cannot say what you like about people on the internet and not run the risk of being held to account for what you have put. It probably won't happen, but there is always an audit trail if someone was so minded.

highpeakblue is talking absolute nonsense. How does the court define "incompetent" ? Not defamation at all. No but I think you may find that calling someone a fascist online may well be defamation - a quick google search might lead you to be a bit more careful. |

Whilst HPB may be adopting the worst case scenario, do have a look at Legal Action taken by the Oyston family against fans of Blackpool FC with regard to comments made on a Fans forum. A cautionary tale indeed. It would of course be a highly alarming development if legal action in such circumstances was threatened or taken against fans by either the employees, volunteers or members of the Board of a fans run club, But anything is possible !
