I love Graham Barrow absolute legend but seriously we are no longer in the 80s or 90s and have to look for a younger Manager who will provide a real fresh start for us - it's time to move forward not backwards Bignot IN

Marcus Bignot is my preferred choice to be our next manager, but if it's not him, then give it Barrow. Anybody else and we may aswell plan for trips to Chorley and the like next season. Yes, the decision is that big and the choice has to be the right one. Never mind my opinion, Bignot is the outstanding candidate in all areas.

Sir Fred. Can you seriously compare Bignot's record to Barrow's. Has bignot ever been promoted with any team? Has he coached at Premiership level? No thought not!

Bignot is a decent shout but not in the same league, as Barrow, as far as experience goes.

Firstly Barrow has NOT applied for the job and if he tries to now after stepping away from Chesterfield it's tough as he didn't apply in time - As for Bignot check out Wikipedia he has won Conference North with Solihull - as for premiership do me a favour he was not the Manager - I love Barrow but he should remain in the hall of fame

I wouldn't mind Barrow as manager, but the game is a lot different to how it was in 1993/94 and 2000/01 and this is a completely different football club too. Sometimes you have to move on with the times and Bignot (while not as experienced as Barrow across different roles of the game) is one of the more recent breed who has a more than respectable record in Non-League circles, which is exactly what we are after. First and foremost he has to be a football manager, but you look at what he did on the community side of things at Solihull too. It's very encouraging indeed. He wants the job, he was the manager we all wanted before McCarthy was sacked and I believe he will turn out to be a popular appointment, should it happen. Anything could happen with this board though and there is a part of me telling me Terry Smith Mk2 will get the gig, simply because he's something different/cheaper.....

Bignot remains my first choice. I think he gets the club, and seems the most suitable candidate. I'd be happy with Barrow though and I can see why people want him, if nothing else it would give the club an injection of positivity and spirit, which let's be honest is diminishing by the week at the moment.

I go back to what my season ticket family at Grimsby said. Bignot was their worst ever manager. Arrogant, no man management skills and the team looked to be clueless. He decimated a very good team.
Why aren't Barrow considering him as their manager?

All this Grimsby talk about Bignot is getting boring now.
Grimsby couldn't wait to see the back of Paul Hurst and now he's sat top of league 1, as for ripping up a good team look at the players he took into Grimsby in Jamey Osborne and Sam Jones and this coupled with losing Omar Boyle.
Barrow has been sacked before and so has Bignot so it's not like the successful manager should not have a sacking on his Cv.
If Barrow wants the job and the club want him then surely he'll be interviewed but let's not get to tied up on where managers who have had relative success have failed as well.
Let's get behind whoever gets the job on Saturday because from day one we need to get behind the players and club and get away from the bottom 4

My only concern about Bignot is how poor Barrow are. Regardless of whether he is manager or not we're talking about a new man coming in and making our players play better - it appears his involvement with Barrow has not got them playing better.
Your talking about man management and coaching here, he might not pick the team at Barrow but I think it's a fair blot on his copy book.
It's hard to comment on Kevin Davies given we won't know how he interviews and I understand concern regards lack of experience, Barrow - again can he get us playing. Our predicament is not about conference knowledge as we have our squad and maxed out budget so the next manager needs to get this lot playing.

Why aren't Barrow considering him as their manager? Barrow's chairman is a fool. Have you seen the rubbish he comes out with? He's like a slightly more mentally stable Terry Smith. Probably thinks Frank de Boer or someone will be their next manager.

Barrow have gone from playing long ball and it's a common fact that the new Barrow manager has been told that has to change, since Bignot has gone there they've played 4, beat Borehamwood who lets be fair are taking a lot of people by surprise, lost to Tranmere in the 90th minute and drawn against 2 sides fighting for their lives in torquay and guiseley.
Bignot is widely regarded as an outstanding coach by players and staff who have worked for him, even at Grimsby and the team he built at Solihull when they won the North used 21 players all season so clearly he can manage a small group and get the best from them
