Massive turning point in our reformed history let's hope whoever is appointed can keep us in this division - but whoever it is gets the backing and time to succeed from the supporters - it won't be easy shaking off the Mccarthy legacy - let's all get behind the new Manager even if it wasn't your preferred choice because this is a massive crossroad in our history.

I agree, a significant day in our history and for our future. Support whoever comes in and let's all turn out on Saturday. COYB!

We hope today's the day. We hoped for weeks, months even that the old manager would get the sack. Whenever the announcement is, I just bloody hope it's the absolute standout candidate, and that everyone backs the new manager. We've pretty much hit rock bottom as far as this season goes, it can only get better from here.

Does anybody think its strange that our only win in the last 17 games has come against the team that are currently top of the league. 1 win in 17 scares me. We could finish the season with less points than Hyde got 4 years ago.

I wouldn't expect the new manager to be able to prepare a team in one session, he'll probably observe, the same on Saturday. I wouldn't expect too much input from him before or at the weekend unless something really pisses him off......like Chapell pretending that he's a footballer

Biggest decision in our recent history. The board has to get this one right. The right appointment will galvanise the support and I am sure most supporters understand that this won't be the work of a moment. For me, the new manager needs to first of all get us fit and organised - hopefully managing to ship some of the deadwood out in the process (easier said than done) Just seeing both of those factors will be a significant improvement on recent times. Then, a cup run is going to be essential to bringing in some funds that will hopefully enable us to improve the squad going into the second half of the season.

Couldn't agree more, maybe as fans or even CFU we could build our funds up for the new manager.

The key to all of this is that we all give the new manager a chance and get behind him and the team. Even if it's someone who we didn't want we have to give them a chance

He'll know where to make changes and kick start this season.
I agree. It won't be easy but I'm confident we'll survive.
Looking forward to the Tranmere game if RyanAir don't cancel my flight !

We’ll stay up Its going to take something very special to keep us up this season. We would have gone down last season had it not been for Sam Hughes. Ryan Astles had his worst game since he's been here at Dover. Him and McCombe are a liability. I think you are a young fella with lots of youthful exuberance and that's admirable. My fear is that we appoint Bignot and it turns out that he's like a rabbit in headlights. I really hope I'm wrong.

Whoever is appointed needs to be fully focused on the 1st team, the rest is in good hands, time is short but we need to show as much patience as possible and unite behind staff an all the players.

Barrow set to announce their new manager at 3pm this afternoon. Rumour has it that Marcus Bignot will be unveiled as their new boss. Interesting if true Is money talking here? Having said that, if that's a major factor for Bignot, then we have to accept it and, moreover, does it show that his commitment to CFC and our ethos is not 100%? It would be a pity, because I thought he would be a good acquisition but I wonder if this could clear the way for Money who I think is an excellent candidate if he's prepared to work 'oop North!

Wouldn't be surprising seeing as he is already working there, they have more resources and they have been looking for a new Manager for longer than us. Maybe if true our interest has forced their hand. Quite likely that some of our candidates don't fancy the challenge and restricted finances offered at Chester and would drop out of the race, happens in all walks of life.

Very happy with that appointment.
The romantic in me hoped for a return of Graham Barrow but I am very happy with that appointment.
Now let's give this guy time to really make his mark on the club.

Who in their right mind would work for a nutter like Casson. He sounds as bad as Mad Terry. Plus the fact that they're at the arse end of nowhere.

Aye thankfully it was yes. I agree it seemed strange. Bignot has always said (especially when he was appointed at Grimsby) that he was looking at it as a long term project. Whereas Barrow and Casson are hardly known for sticking with managers in the long term.
I just hope, even if we do go down this year, that we can keep Bignot at the helm and give him a full summer and pre-season to shape the side how he wants. Biggest challenge now will be picking up these lads whose confidence looks rock bottom. I only hope that we can give him the funds required to make any necessary changes. In my opinion there at least 4 of that squad that should be told to move on. Chappell, Dawson, Davies, LRT for starters.
