Aye thankfully it was yes. I agree it seemed strange. Bignot has always said (especially when he was appointed at Grimsby) that he was looking at it as a long term project. Whereas Barrow and Casson are hardly known for sticking with managers in the long term. I just hope, even if we do go down this year, that we can keep Bignot at the helm and give him a full summer and pre-season to shape the side how he wants. Biggest challenge now will be picking up these lads whose confidence looks rock bottom. I only hope that we can give him the funds required to make any necessary changes. In my opinion there at least 4 of that squad that should be told to move on. Chappell, Dawson, Davies, LRT for starters. We would be 3 points worse off and 23rd in the table if it weren't for Lucas Dawson - careful what you wish for.

If you look purely at goals maybe, but if we have someone else with more of a presence on the pitch for the full 90 minutes, we may have got results in other games. That goes for a few in the team though.

It didn't work playing him on the right but I quite like him as part of a midfield 3 as he's one of the few who can pick a pass and score a goal.

Dawson isn't good enough for me in the centre of the park. His distribution is shocking, he lacks movement off the ball, when he gets the ball he always wants to get rid of it straight away by playing a ridiculously elaborate ball to nobody.
I point to a number of times when Halls has been in possession of the ball, moved to the halfway line looking for a pass and Dawson (supposedly playing in front of him) has been stood ball watching not making himself available for a simple ball, or moving into space to receive it, leaving Halls with no option but to try and play it square to the centre back, hoof it down the line or hoof it to a sub 6ft centre forward.
Maybe Bignot will see something in him and he'll realise his potential? I can't see that happening like but up to him and him alone to prove his doubters wrong and kick on.

I must be watching a different player, I like Dawson and think he is probably our best passer of the ball. It doesn't always come off for him, but that's why he's playing here and not further up.
I'm also not convinced LRT has been anywhere near as bad as some have made out, either.
I'd agree with Chappell wholeheartedly, though!

Now that we have a new manager, maybe we should give everyone a clean slate, especially the new lads? The players aren't blameless of course, but it's been hard for anyone to impress in the last nine months with the way McCarthy set them up.

Barrow set to announce their new manager at 3pm this afternoon. Rumour has it that Marcus Bignot will be unveiled as their new boss. Turns out that rumour was a Whopper! This guy is always spreading wild gossip. Glad he was wrong again.

I don't think we can judge any of these newer players until a few games from now, once Bignot has got them organised and understanding of their roles and responsibilities. There are many who have under performed so far, who we should be expecting better from based on past form at other clubs. In the cases of Chappel, Joyce and Davies, they have never been up to it so I would hope they will be moved on quickly if possible.
