You're a garbage fan with a short memory. He put full effort in and gave blues fans that ATTEND games great memories. I won't bother asking if you were at the games I'm on about. Idiot

Idiot Sad that you feel it necessary to refer to someone as an idiot because you either differ with his opinion or just feel a need to adopt a mob mentality, criticising a Whopper. in my opinion Hobson's greatest attribute was trapping the ball further than most people can kick it.

Hobson was a frustrating player, but I can't forget his performance in the Heneghan Derby. His workrate in that game was phenomenal and his goal was a touch of class. Yes, he had a poor first touch, was slow and spent a lot of time moaning while on the deck, but he put the effort in.

Funnily enough had an electrician out today who went to school with him, he asked about him & I said he was utter shite. He said he wasn't much good when they were at school either.

If you watched his substitute appearance in the 3-2 loss at Nuneaton, where he scored twice, you would have thought he was the bees knees.

Up there for me with Gary Bennett's spin and shot in the box at the Sealand Road end in 85/86 to beat Wrexham 2-1 Players who score against Wrexham always seem to get special treatment

I wasn't there, but I remember Phil Brown raving about Hobson's performance when we knocked Southend out of the cup. He was limited but on his day he was a real handful and he scored big goals for us.

He had the deft touch of a rhinoceros but always respected the shirt, giving 100%. He should never need to buy himself a pint in Chester after that goal against Wrexham.

I was - he was immense that day - got three of their back four booked and looked unplayable. Consistency was clearly an issue and it was frustrating that he couldn't reproduce that display again, but it is beyond me what people get out of denigrating past players.

Look back over the history of DC v2. Players who scored against the goats often come in for special abuse from goats on here who pretend to be Chester fans. Richards, Hobson are two.

9 times out of 10 he was shite, but he seemed to be the player proudest to play for Chester in a long long time, with a few obvious exceptions.
Never forget his performances against Wrexham, Macclesfield, Nuneaton, Southend and Barnsley.
