The young Blues will be travelling to AFC Fylde on Thursday in the FA Youth Cup 2nd Qualifying round. They reached the 3rd round proper last season after knocking out Fleetwood and Bolton before losing 1-0 after extra time at Broxbourne Borough. Broxbourne eventually got knocked out in the 5th round by Aston Villa. I hope they get through and then get a home draw.

if i remember right Broxbourne Borough fans after the game squared up to our players looking for a fight

Yes the Broxbourne game was a bit of a disappointment. The team couldn't really get a foothold into the game because the pitch was so bumpy. Their senior team have an average crowd of 35, but there was around 1,000 there for the youth cup game and the group in the corner attacked our lads at the end. I remember Brian Burns trying to stop them. We were on the opposite side.

Read in Saturday's programme that the Fylde manager was texting Calum, giving him a bit of chirp once the draw was made, so especially sweet! Well done lads - another adventure begins!
