Two weeks and two games into his tenure and I guess MB is forming in his mind a) how he intends to sort this lot out and b) which players he wants to be part of his brave new world, especially after last night's performance!
The problem is that the squad is both very threadbare (the team almost picks itself) and unbalanced and it's going to take some serious juggling to mould a team around the current players (those that stay), and whoever MB wants to bring in. On top of this, and a major factor, is the contractual issues of certain players, are we now about to pay the price for our rashness in our recruitment/contracts over the summer
My personal take on who should be worried about their future is, assuming contractual issues can be resolved:
Seriously worried - Chappell - think we've seen the last of him Davies - simply out of his depth Joyce - as above
Quite concerned - Waters - think he might be shipped out on loan Sheron - why is he here? Halls - needs to justify his starting place Bell - loan is up soon McCombe - we need some pace at the back
Long shots - Lynch and/or Mitchell - could we do with a more imposing keeper? Mahon - are the injuries becoming too frequent? Hannah - not yet justifying his reputation or place
In short, I think MB and the fans realise that this squad requires major surgery and soon if we're not to slip to relegation with a whimper. How it's actually done, I don't know as I'm not party to what goes on behind the scenes but if MB can turn this around he should earn everlasting respect and adoration from the club and the supporters.
The next few weeks should prove interesting, let's hope we are still in the frame whilst the transition is happening

Do we still have any rainy day money left, because if we do it won't get much rainier than it is now.
I doubt we'll have a cup run with this lot. I get the impression with some of this lot that they're only here to boost their income from their other 'employment(s)'.

IF . . . we can get through v Kiddi in the cup and couple that money (£12,500) with the BT money v Dagenham (£5,500) and take say £10,000 from the war chest fund it should give MB a little bit of a chance to delve in to the market for two or three new additions to the camp. Couple this with the possibility of a couple of our squad being sent out on loan etc. and we may see as many as five new squad members. Clearly, CFC are in the S H one T but for a small amount of money we COULD give ourselves a chance. The vast majority of Blues supporters fully realise the complete and utter mess that The Incredible One left our club in and I think we as supporters should seriously revisit the Manager’s Top-up Fund. Say 1,000 supporters donate £10 each (some will donate a fiver, hopefully some will possibly offer up to £50). Give ourselves two weeks and I feel sure we can add at least £10,000 to such a fund. CFC is our club, it’s not MB’s fault that he has so little to work with and we just have to try to make something happen for him. It may seem a small gesture, but as I see it we have to get ourselves involved. Be interested in DC board members thoughts and comments.

Don’t think it’s as bad as you make out. We could be bottom of the league without a win. That would be rainer.

To be fair Hannah has been shocking, since his return. I was never a big fan, last time around, because if he is not scoring his all round play is simply not good enough. Compounded by an inability to hold the ball up. Also, I was expecting a lot more from Turnbull. How we desperately lack a playmaker, in the McConville, Rooney mould and particularly galling to see Durrell top with Macclesfield. I would have kept him, over some of the dross, that we have retained.

I've never heard that levelled against him and it is fact that our rivals from down the road wanted him. When a tram is not doing very well, it is all too easy to find a scapegoat and make unwarranted criticism.

Also, is that the same McConville and Rooney that a lot of people on here constantly criticised.

If you read my post it says why I was not a fan. If he is not scoring his all round play is not good enough. He has a chronic inability to hold the ball up and it looks to me like a season or 2 seasons too far for him.

Our four strikers have five goals between them . . . ok, two haven't played much . . . but that's a meagre return.

Bell, Davies, Joyce, Sheron, Chapell and should all be released or returned to parent club.
Waters, Crawford, Jones and Brown all sent out on loan to gain experience.
That should free up enough in the wage bill to bring in a few decent replacements.
Halls, Turnbull and Hannah all need to pull their finger out.

MPW I agree with your post in terms of how you feel we should proceed with the current personal we have. Bell works hard to be fair. I know he is scheduled to go back to Gateshead in the new year. Not sure we need to be trying to keep him for the rest of the season? I wonder how much of a hindrance not being full time is to us? Quite significantly so I guess? I wonder if someone in the know can advise how far away from being able to be a full time outfit we are. You to suspect that we have too many that playing for us suites because of other commitments. I’m sure having a squad that was commuted to the cause putting it all in to their football would make a big difference for us. I’d go as far as to say we may well be being taken for a ride in some cases.

Can't argue with any of this but not that easy to unload players who are on contracts. But think it's pretty obvious we need a couple of new faces to freshen things up.

Also I assume we'd still be covering some of the wages of the players loaned out?
