I have a friend who sells 50/50 tickets. He could get in free, but he chooses to buy a season ticket to support the club.

Not particularly. Just didn't think it was wise for someone to brag about getting free tickets. I never bragged at all. If I had the option of paying for one I would but it’s the club who admit me in for free. It’s not my fault everyone!

Just don't have your head turned by the Chelsea's and Man Us.

Some of you people are a disgrace to the club and other fans. I don't know Rio personally but he seems like a hard working committed Chester fan who devotes his spare time to the club. As he gets older I hope he realises that there is more to life but while he's got the time why shouldn't he accept the clubs offer of a free ticket and be proud to accept it? He gets grief from people for starting a positive match thread, to the point where people are actively critising him, seriously? Give me a break from your bullshit lads, most of you are old enough to know better! Most of what I read on here is nonsense, and I'm no fan of dc1 either, it's enough to make anyone question why they follow this club with Neanderthal fans like most on here, being an official or manager of this club must be the hardest job in the country because of you fuckwits

Rio is an absolute credit to our club. He obviously, eats, sleeps, and lives for Chester FC. The young lad made a comment (not bragging), and the usual suspects 'jump on him'. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Think it's a bit mad that grown adults have a chip on their shoulder about a teenager accepting the club's offer of a free season ticket in exchange for volunteering each match day personally. But there you go.

If the club ever decided to give free season tickets for flag erectors I'm sure you'd get one.

When did we last have a thread actually about the football team? every thread descends into personal vendettas eventually. In the end the majority of posters won't bother anymore and the forum will be left with a dozen posters just aimlessly slagging each other off. Then someone can start dc3 and it can all start again.

Don’t panic everyone. As Rio has stated on here somewhere further up this thread, he puts plenty of money & time into the club, I see him almost every week at Chester FC goalkeeper training at the goals five a side place opposite the stadium, in his rather smart Chester Goalkeeper kit which most supporters on here, I’m guessing don’t have. He pays £3 a week for this which as it happens is the cost for him to pay to watch Chester play. As I say he goes almost every week which essentially means he’s paying is admission price every week instead of every other week, I have also seen him giving the younger aspiring Chester FC goalkeep of the future tips and help such as my 7 year old, on many occasions. Well done Rio the ball boy.😊👍

When did I say that I work? I do have a ‘’real job’’ outside of the football club which i get paid for, but this is just something which I got asked to do and I love doing it. From what I said before, I ‘work’ for my ‘free season ticket’, as in giving my all. You don’t seem to understand the difference between ‘work’ and ‘working for’ do you Jonah? Giving your all being a ball boy deserves a free season ticket? Where do I sign up? Why don't you pay for your season ticket and help the club out financially like the rest of the volunteers and fans do? 🤔 Typical Tory attitude that. You must live in the constant fear that someone somewhere who you think is your inferior, is getting a better deal in life. Leave the lad alone.

When Rio posted that he had a free season ticket, along with a 'winking' face, I assumed he was referring to the fact that he was in the ground watching the game whilst carrying out his ball boy duties;i.e. he didn't need a ticket because he was already in the ground. I can't believe the stick he has got from some posters or that anyone would expect a ball boy to be required to buy a ticket.
Rio's unbridled enthusiasm for our club is a breath of fresh air. I love his bullish match day score predictions, no matter how naive they might be & there can be no doubting his commitment to the Blues cause. He's getting my vote for clubman of the year.

Sometimes businesses have a special offer, or a deal to make people think they are getting something for nothing, but actually as a volunteer the service they provide to the club is worth more than the price of season ticket, therefore everyone is a winner

Do the negative posters seriously think a ball boy should pay to get into the ground?
Next they'll be demanding that Rio wears a blindfold so he doesn't see any action from the game, having to rely on shouts from the crowd of cold, getting warmer, & hot whilst he searches to retrieve the ball.
Rio for clubman of the year!

For the benefit of the negative nitpickers, please note that Rio does a job of work for the club on match days, and receives no financial remuneration whatsoever for his efforts. i.e. he doesn't get paid. This makes him a volunteer. The work of a ballboy involves following play and retrieving the ball and returning it to the players for the duration of the full 90 minutes. In respect of other tasks such as programme selling or flag erecting this is mostly or wholly carried out before play begins. Those people can feel free to leave the ground at the conclusion of their task, or stay and pay. What next? Should Marcus Bignot buy a season ticket? Surely he can conduct all his tasks before kick off, and rely on the match video to analyse the match, instead of watching it live. He can delegate his assistant to conduct substitutions. He could even ask Rio to do it for him, after all Rio will still be there long after Marcus Bignot has gone. Sorry to prattle on talking nonsense like this, but I was inspired by the numerous others talking nonsense on this thread already. Well done Rio, and is it your sister on the other touchline?
